Cable Car falls at Kailasagiri Hill Park leaves seven injured

Seven members of a family from Hyderabad were hospitalized after a cable car snapped while they were getting down at Kailasagiri Hill Park today evening.

VUDA has immediately suspended ropeway operations after the incident took place at 4.30pm. All of the seven members of a family received minor injuries and were rushed to KGH hospital and later to a corporate hospital while two of the adults complained of waist pain following the incident.

The injured are identified as R.Ashish Kumar, K.Priyadarshini, Kiran Kumari, R. Alekhya, R.Manisha, R.Yakshika and Tiya who came here on vacation.

VUDA Vice-Chairman T.Babu Rao Naidu visited the accident site said that the cabin car fell down when it got disconnected from the hook which was holding it. VUDA outsourced Kolkata based Conveyor and Ropeway Services Private Ltd., for maintenance of the ropeway service. HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao visited the hospital and enquired about the condition of the patients. He said that a probe would be conducted into the incident.
