C.M.Ramesh, Ravindra Kumar are the TDP candidates for Rajya Sabha poll

Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu today after hectic consultations with the party leaders have named the sitting Rajya Sabha member C.M.Ramesh and Ravindra Kumar as the party candidates for the Rajya Sabha elections.

According to a release issued by TDP State president K.Kala Venkata Rao declared their names thereby putting an end to the suspense.

C.M.Ramesh, a native of Kadapa district is an existing member of Rajya Sabha and his term is set to expire on April 2. He was one of those who personally met the Chief Minister just the other day requesting re-nomination. After announcement of his name, speaking to media, he thanked the Chief Minister for giving him another chance.

Ravindra Kumar, a senior advocate based in Vijayawada and member of the ad hoc committee of the Bar Council of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana has been at the helm of affairs in TDP legal cell as its president for a long time. He argued several cases related to Chandra Babu Naidu and TDP in various courts.

Varla Ramaiah disappointed: It may be recalled that Varla Ramaiah whose name was in the news for sometime was eliminated at the last hour. Speaking to media, he said that he was disappointed with the sudden last-minute change. Ramesh and Ravindra Kumar are likely to file their nominations on March 12 for the elections scheduled on March 12.
