Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) won 99 seats out of 150 divisions in the recently held elections for Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation paving way that the Mayor and Deputy Mayor posts will be in the hands of TRS.

According to sources, Bontu Rammohan who got elected from Charlapalli division and Baba Fasi Uddin who was elected from Borubonda division may be picked up for Mayor and Deputy Mayor posts respectively. The newly elected Corporators will take oath at 11am said the District Collector Rahul Bojja.

Municipal Administration and Town Development Minister K.T.Rama Rao will hold discussions with the elected Corporators at 8am today. On the otherhand, sources said that the Chief Minister has already picked up the candidates for the Mayor and Deputy Mayor posts. The names will be announced in the Corporators’ meeting.

Election unanimous:
More than half of the seats were won by TRS i.e the party bagged 76 divisions out of 150 required strength for the election of Mayor and Deputy Mayor. As there is no scope for any other party to field a candidate, the election would in all probabilities be unanimous. The selection becomes unanimous without taking into the consideration of the ex-officio members votes of MLAS, MLCs, MPS, Rajya Sabha Members and if taken into consideration will go to 217. TRS itself is having 35 ex-official members.
