Attack on Jagan- Court rejects extension of custody of accused to police

The Judge of the Third Metropolitan Court L.Jagadeesh Kumar today rejected the plea of the SIT plea to extend the police custody of J. Srinivasa Rao, the accused in the attack of YSRCP president Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The Court has ordered to sent him to judicial custody for seven days. The local court had earlier sanctioned six days police custody on October 28. At the end of the remand period, the accused was produced in the court. Though, the police filed a petition seeking extension of the remand stating that it was required to elicit more information from the accused.

Meanwhile, the CISF Deputy Commandant Dinesh Kumar who was present at the time of the attack and who filed the FIR at the Airport Police Station had been asked to go on leave.
