YSRCP Nagari MLA R.K.Roja who got interim orders from the Hyderabad High Court permitting her to attend for the Assembly was defied by the AP Assembly mashals. Sources said that the Speaker has given clear cut instructions to the marshals not to allow her into the Assembly. Heavy police force has been posted at all the entry gates of the Assembly.
YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy and other party MLAs who were with Roja had a verbal duet with the marshals. Jagan questions how the Speaker can defy the orders of the High Court. Tension prevails at the Assembly premises. With the interference of Jagan, the marshals have permitted to enter into the premises but not into the Assembly. It may be noted here that the government has taken a decision to appeal the case to a Division Bench.
Hundreds of marshals and police force have been posted at the Assembly premises. Jagan demanded the Assembly Chief Marshal to show the written orders of the Speaker and asked him to behave like officials and not as party activists. The Assembly sessions began while the entire opposition YSRCP is with Roja at the Assembly premises and waiting for response of the Speaker. YSRCP MLAs including Jagan who was behind Roja sat on the roads. Even the counsel of Roja was prevented to meet the officials. Party MLAs sat on the road and made it clear that they will not enter into the Assembly till the High Court orders are implemented.
Party MLAs terming the objection of the Speaker to allow Roja into the Assembly despite High Court orders is nothing but killing democratic values, said YSRCP MLA Rajanna Dora.
In the event of written instructions given to the marshals not to allow Roja into Assembly hall either by the Minister for Assembly Affairs Yanamala Ramakrishnudu or the Speaker will definitely attract court contempt action.
Legal experts opine that it is the duty of the Speaker’s office to honour the High Court orders else they would land in contempt provisions. Meanwhile, YSRCP MLAs led by the president Jagan Reddy is moving to Raj Bhavan to lodge complaints and to appraise the situation.
The petition filed by the Assembly Speaker in a Division Bench in the Hyderabad High Court challenging the single judge interim orders has been posted to Monday said sources.
