Arogya Mitra workers sent out

Andhra Pradesh State Government has sent out over 2,000 Arogya Mitra workers working in private and government hospitals in the purview of NTR Vaidya Seva.

Orders have been issued to this effect today. The services of 1,984 workers who are being paid Rs.8,300pm were terminated and instructions have been issued to the District Collectors. The orders said that the Arogya Mitra workers do not have sufficient educational qualifications and lack of computer knowledge and government will be appointing qualified persons as Arogya Mitra workers. In this context, it may be recalled that they are working for the past seven years.

The government has created network Vaidya Mitra, PHC Vaidya Mitra, Network team leader, Divisional Team Leader posts. The qualifications for the posts are B.Sc., nursing, M.Sc. nursing, B. Pharmacy, Pharm D., B.Sc., medical lab technology along with computer knowledge. The candidates should be very much fluent in English and Telugu and should be able to understand medical terminology. Candidates who possess post-graduation, Hospital administration will be treated as additional qualifications. The District Collector will appoint an outsourcing agency. The appointing committee is headed by District Collector as chairman and District Medical Officer as secretary, local teaching hospital superintendent and Vaidya Seva district co-ordinator will be members.
