Former MLA Narayana Reddy dead

Anantapur:: Former Anantapur Congress MLA B.Narayana Reddy (70) who represented Anantapur several times died of cardiac arrest. He is being treated at a private hospital in Hyderabad. He was known to be a close confidante of the former Chief Minister late Dr.YS.Rajasekhara Reddy. The body was shifted to Anantapur. APCC president N. Raghuveera Reddy, Anantapur MP JC Diwakar Reddy and many MLAs, MLCs, officials paid homage to the departed leader. YSRCP president Jagan Reddy expressed condolences to the members of the family.

Narayana Reddy did his graduation in Ballari and had friendship with late Dr.YS.Rajasekhara Reddy. Narayana Reddy who was earlier a contractor entered into politics. He was first elected as MLA in 1989 from Anantapur and won from the same constituency in 1999 and 2004. He lost in 1994 elections.

MP C.M.Ramesh attacks electrical assistant lineman

Proddutur:: Sources said that Rajya Sabha member C.M.Ramesh has reportedly attacked an assistant lineman Dandu Veera Sekhar on Sunday afternoon. According to sources, the victim was cutting the tree branches which are obstructing the electrical wires in Satyanarayana Colony as the same was leading to frequent power failures. The employees were cutting the branches of trees. At that particular time when the employees were working, C.M.Ramesh was on his way called them. When Veeera Sekhar was explaining the situation, the Rajya Sabha Member reportedly smashed his face with fist resulting in an injury on the face. He even threatened him saying that he would be suspended. He was rushed to Proddutur hospital for treatment. Assistant Engineer M.Krishna Kumar along with the staff visited the hospital. He informed the issue to the notice of DAE. The victim lodged a complaint at the Hospital outpost.

New Sports policy soon

Machilipatnam:: Law and Sports Minister Kollu Ravindra today said that the State government would spend nearly Rs.50 crore to develop a sports complex in Machilipatnam. After inaugurating the summer cricket camp, he alleged that the Opposition party became a hurdle to speed up works relating to the sports complex proposed adjacent to the Machilipatnam – Vijayawada national highway. The State government has already granted Rs.2 crore to begin the work. Gathering the proposed 22 acres of land for the construction of sports complex became a hurdle in the wake of protests, he said.

ANU PG CET results announced

ANU (Guntur):: Acharya Nagarjuna University PGCET results were announced by Vice Chancellor Rajendra Prasad. The results and ranks can be had on www.anu.ac.in www.anudoa.in websites. Out of 7,916 candidates who applied, 6,810 candidates have appeared the test. PCET: AP PCET-2017 will be held from Monday for admissions into B.P.Ed and UGDPEd courses. The tests will be held for 10 days and as many as 4,600 candidates will take part.

Raids conducted on violation of MRP on liquor

Amaravati:: The Excise Enforcement Department today conducted raids across the State said Enforcement Director Venkateswara Rao. He said that 69 teams have participated in the raids and booked 32 cases of violations of various nature. He said that 9 cases were booked for selling liquor in violation of MRP rates and 21 of other nature.
