  • Amaravati:: PG Counselling only after finalization of fee structure:: Vice Chancellor of Dr.NTR University of Health Sciences Dr.T.Ravi Raju said that the counselling would be taken up only after finalization of fee structure. A clarity will come up on the fee structure in two or three days, he said. The dates of counselling will be announced after a decision on fee structure by the government, he said. The certificate verification has been done and arrangements were made for counselling, he added.
  • Amaravati:: 65% appear for test for Genco Engineer posts::The APGENCO that conducted a written test for the post of Engineers on Sunday for which 65 per cent of the candidates appeared. There were 94 posts in electrical and civil engineering divisions. As many as 46,973 candidates have applied and only 30,149 candidates have taken up the test.
  • Kakinada:: four police personnel injured as escort vehicle overturns:: Escort staff of two VIPs had a miraculous escape on Sunday when their vehicles met with accidents in East Godavari district. Four police personnel on escort duty with Home Minister Nimmakayala Chinarajappa escaped with injuries when the vehicle overturned at Eethakota village near Ravulapalem on Sunday evening. They were rushed to a local private hospital for treatment and their condition was said to be stable. In another incident, the escort vehicle of the Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Council Reddi Subramanyam collided with a police vehicle at Vanapali village.
  • Kurnool:: 105 star tortoises recovered and four arrested:: Forest officials arrested four smugglers and seized 105 star tortoises from them during a raid in the Surabhi forest area in Lakkireddipalli mandal in Kadapa district on Sunday. The accused allegedly smuggling to Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata by packing them in parcels when they were arrested.
  • Tirupati:: SVIMS Director receives IAMA award:: T.S.Ravi Kumar, Director and Vice-Chancellor of Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences received an award form the Indian American Medial Association of Illinois, USA given in recognition of his outstanding contribution in the field of surgical oncology and pioneering efforts in initiating quality and safety standards in Indian health institutions.

Union Joint secretary, Social Justice ad Empowerment U.Venkateswarulu who attended as chief guest advised the students to identify and hone the right skills required to make it big.
  • Vijayawada:: Two arrested on charges of sending abusive messages to over 200 women:: The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) G.Pala Raju speaking to pressmen said that they have arrested two persons on Sunday on the charges of sending objectionable, abusive and threatening messages to women. The police recovered 32 SIM cards, nine memory cards and five mobile phones. The arrested are P.Srinivasa Rao, a conductor in the RTC and M.Samuel. He said that the accused conductor collected the phone numbers of women when they showed their bus passes and also collected some numbers from his wife’s phone. The DCP said that the accused met each other during a bus journey and started sharing numbers and harassing women.
  • Vijayawada:: Curbs at Eamcet centres:: The city police will impose Section 144 at the centres where Eamcet will be conducted from April 24 to 28. Online examinations will be conducted at nine centres under Machavaram, Nunna, Two Town, Patamata, Penamaluru and Unguturu police station limits.
  • Vijayawada:: State level BSNL employees meet:: National Confederation of Telecom Employees Association will be conducting a State level meet on Tuesday at Dasari Bhavan here on the amendments made on 3rd wage revision according to AP Circle secretary Ch.Chandrasekhara Rao. He said that though it has to take place from 1st January this year, no steps have been taken in this direction, he said.
