Amaravati:: Nadendla Manohar demands a white paper on Chandrababu’s Davos visit:: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee vice-president Nadendla Manohar demanded a white paper on the AP Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s Davos visit. He said that the CM has so far visited thrice and wanted to make open how money industries were brought to the State and the MoUs he signed. He had written a letter to Chief Minister to this effect. He said that the government has issued a GO releasing Rs.8 crore for the Davos’ visit. He reminded that during 2015 visit, the Chief Minister met the Microsoft chief Bill Gates and Satya Nadendla and they will establish Microsoft Development Centre and top industries like Hero Motors, Pepsi, Walmart, Wipro etc., will establish their units in the State but none was materialized. He wanted to make open the expenditure incurred due to abroad visits and the investments he brought to the State.
Amaravati:: Krishna Board writes to State to release water from Srisailam to Sagar:: Krishna Board member secretary on Saturday has written a letter to the State government to release water from Srisailam Reservoir to Nagarjuna Sagar. The State government has on Sunday has released 22,189 cusecs of water. It may be recalled that the Krishna Board has allotted 35 tmcs to Andhra Pradesh and 17 tmcs to Telangana State on December 19.
Amaravati:: Forensic laboratory in Guntur:: The State government has decided to establish forensic laboratory in Guntur. The Union Home Ministry has directed the State Medical and Health department to submit a comprehensive report. After bifurcation of the State there is no forensic laboratory for the State and the Centre is keen on establishing it in the State as early as possible.
Nellore:: Justice Manjunatha Commission to visit:: Justice Manjunatha Commission will organize an open opinion meet on Monday from the public on the issue of including Kapus including in the list of BCs. He held discussions with the SP Vishal Gunni. It may be recalled that the BC leaders have announced to boycott the commission’s open inquiry. Police are making a heavy bandobust to prevent any untoward incident.
Visakhapatnam:: Sports events for IT employees:: Information Technology Association of Andhra Pradesh will conduct various sports events for employees of various IT and ITES companies. ITAAP that has 120 IT and ITES companies as its members has decided to conduct regular sport event for women and men employees. The events will be conducted in ten categories covering athletics, carom, tennis, table tennis, volleyball, shuttle badminton, throw ball, tennikoit and kho-kho.
Visakhapatnam:: Constable examination:: 17,839 candidates appear for the examination:: The APSLPRB constable mains examination was conducted successfully in 35 centres in the district. Out of 17,909 candidates who qualified for the mains, 17839 candidates appeared. For the first time, the attendance was taken on biometric system.
Visakhapatnam:: Velocity IIT Academy branch in the city:: Velocity founder Director, Executive Chairman M.Radhakrishna said that a branch of Velocity IIIT Academy will be inaugurated in the city on Monday. The academy gives training for IIT education.
Vijayawada:: Five decade old Sugar unit closed:: Officials have made preparations to auction on Monday the 55 year old Jeypore Sugar Company Limited that is known as Chagallu Sugars Ltd., in West Godavari and the company had been reportedly on loss for the last few years. Over 700 workers lost their livelihood with the closure of the sugarcane unit. The revenue officials seized the factory on January 20 as the company failed to pay dues to sugarcane farmers and wages to the workers for the last few months.
