  • Guntur:: TDP MLA Bhumana Akhila Priya’s car attacked:: Tension situation prevailed when YSRCP supporters attacked the car of Allagadda TDP MLA from Bhumana Akhila Priya on Thursday at Mandadam village. The driver of the car however managed to sped away and the police chased the group. However, the MLA was unhurt in the incident.
  • Ongole:: Government sanctions three dialysis centres:: The State government has sanctioned three more dialysis centres for the district following the death of 423 persons to Chronic Kidney Disease in Prakasam district. These dialysis centre costing Rs.1.50 crore are coming up under PPP mode at Markapur, Kanigiri and Kandukar said DMHO J.Yasmin. The decision came following some patients of from Kanigiri are calling YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in Hyderabad earlier this week and the Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan in Uddanam area of Srikakulam district.
  • Tirupati:: State to introduce over 1,000 Custom Hiring Centres:: The State government would be introducing more than 1,000 Custom Hiring Centre, said Special Chief Secretary (Agriculture) and Acharya N.G.Ranga agricultural University VC B.Rajasekhar. He was interacting with the media on the eve of the ‘Agricultural Technology Exhibition’, as part of a two-day national seminar on ‘Trends in Farm Mechanization and Engineering Interventions for Sustainable Agriculture at Regional Agricultural Research Station at Tirupati on Thursday, he emphasized on the need for adopting the best management practices on farm mechanization.
  • Vijayawada:: Jagan to standby farmers of CRDA against forcible land acquisition:: YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday promised to fight against forcible land acquisition of lands by the government in the capital region. He was addressing the farmers at Nidamarru village, Jagan said landowners had been dealt a harsh blow as the compensation offered to them under the acquisition was far less than the market value. Jagan said that the landowner are being paid Rs.18 lakh per acre while the market value of land at Penumaka and Tadepalli is more than Rs.2 crore. He termed the land acquisition as a big scandal.
  • Visakhapatnam:: MSME panel to hold talks with PSUs:: An action plan to supply materials required for the 16 public sector units in the city from micro, small and medium enterprises will be chalked out said District Collector Pravin Kumar. The MSME committee formed with former CMDs of BHEL-HPVP, RINL and HSL and it would hold discussions with the Industries department would give its suggestions in two months, he said. A meeting would also be convened with the PSUs.

  • Visakhapatnam:: Greyhounds RSI held on molestation charge:: A Reserve Sub Inspector G.V.Nagendra Prasad posted in the elite anti-Naxal force Greyhounds in the city was arrested by the Fifth Town police on charges of outraging the modesty of a woman on Thursday. It is alleged that he tried to molest a woman in her mid-twenties at her home in Ramjinagar on Wednesday night when he was caught by the neighbors and handed over to police according to Joint Commissioner of Police A.S.Khan.
