  • Amaravati:: AP NGOs election on February 19:: Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted officers Association elections will be held on February 19 and nominations will be accepted up to February 12 said lection officer K.Dalinaidu. He said that the last date of withdrawal of nominations is February 13 at 1pm. If necessary, elections would be held on February 19 and results will be announced after the elections process is over on the same day. He said the voters list has been released .
  • Amaravati:: Sub Inspector’s written test:: Andhra Pradesh Police Recruitment Board Chairman Atul Singh in a statement on Thursday said that the final written test for those qualified in the earlier tests will be held on February 18 and 19. The written test will be held from 10am to 1pm and 2.30pm to 5.30pm. He said that 35,428 candidates have been selected for the final test. The tests will be held in Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Guntur and Kurnool. Hall tickets can be downloaded from, websites.
  • Arasavalli (Srikakulam):: Ratha Saptami celebrations at Sri Suryanarayana Swamy temple:: The Ratha Saptami celebrations of Sri Sri Sri Suryanarayana Swamy at Arasavalli in Srikakulam kick started in a grand scale immediately after Thursday midnight. The first Abhishekam was performed by Sri Visakha Sarada Peethadipati Sri Swaroopanamda Swamy and local MLA Gunda Lakshmi Devi and Executive Officer Syamala Devi offered silk vastrams to swamy. Thousands of devotees from various parts of the State along with neighbouring Odisha and Chattisgarh thronged the temple. Devotees can have ‘Nija Rupa Darshan’ till Friday evening.
  • Kadapa:: Six corporators rejoins YSRCP:: Six corporators of Kadapa Municipal Corporation has rejoined the YSRCP in presence of party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. The corporators are Isukapalli Chaitanya (Ward 1), Kurra Lakshmi Devi (3rd Division), O.Lakshmi Devi (20th division), SV Shamsheer (35th division), M.Vijayarani (40th division), Paka Suresh Kumar (47th division). It may be recalled that all these have joined TDP recently. Mayor K.Suresh Babum MLAS Amzadbasha welcomed them.
  • Visakhapatnam:: EPDCL consumer awareness meetings::: The Consumer Grievance Redress Forum, APEPDCL, under Session Judge (Retired) D.Dharma Rao will conduct Consumer Awareness Programme meetings in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam and East and West Godavari districts to address problems of the consumers. For consumers of Vizianagaram, the meeting will be held on Friday at the Kothavalasa section office from 10am to 1pm. In East Godavari, it will be held on February 10 at Mandapeta sub-division office. In Visakhapatnam and Narsipatnam, it will be held on February 14 at Chodavaram sub-division office. In Srikakulam, it will be held on February 14 at Rajam sub-division office and for West Godavari it will be held at Tanuku sub-division office according to a press release.
  • Visakhapatnam:: Engineering girl student commits suicide:: An 18 year old engineering girl student studying in a private college in Vijayawada committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her home at Regupalem under Yelamanchili police station. Though the incident took place on Wednesday evening, it came to light only on Thursday after the victim’s father lodged a complaining accusing a youngster of harassing his daughter that forced her to take the extreme step. Police sources said that one M.Narasinga Rao from Velcheru had gone to girl’s house with a marriage proposal for which it was rejected by girl’s father. Upset over the rejection, the accused managed to the mobile number of the girl and was harassing. The police have registered a case u/s 364(B) and 306 of IPC.
  • Visakhapatnam:: Challa Ramakrishna Rao to head department of Journalism department:: Challa Ramakrishna Rao, senior faculty member of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Andhra University will take charge as the Head of the Department on February 7 according to a statement.
  • Hyderabad:: Dasari Narayana Rao recovering well’, KIMS MD:: Prominent Director, producer and actor Dasari Narayana Rao who admissed for chest and kidney infection is recovering well said KIMS MD Dr.Bhaskara Rao. He said that there is no worry about his health condition. The ventilator has been removed and dialysis was stopped as he is recovering in a better manner. But after some time, he was again put on ventilator and dialysis is being administered as he was not responding to the treatment he said. Union Minister for Labour Bandaru Dattatreya, YSRCP MP YV Subba Reddy, MRPS leader Manda Krishna Madiga, actors, Murali Mohan, Tarun, Roja Ramani, editor Mohan and other prominent persons in cine field have called on the ailing director.
