  • Amaravati:: Nizamabad MP K.Kavita demands ‘Special Category Status’ to Andhra Pradesh:: Nizamabad MP K.Kavita demanded that the Centre to give Special Category Status to the State of Andhra Pradesh. She said that it is a well-known fact that both the BJP and TDP has promised SCS to the State at the time of elections. She said that the party would support the cause. She was here to participate in the National Women Conference. Speaking to media, she said that the political parties have no sincerity in women reservation.
  • ANU (Guntur):: ANU School of Distance Education that conducted B.L.I.Sc examinations in last December, the results of which were released on Friday according to Deputy Registrar Anjaneya Reddy.   • Tirupati:: YSRCP leader lodges complaint against Minister’s son:: YSRCP Srikalahasti constituency in charge B.Madhusudhan Reddy has filed a police complaint against B.Sudhir Reddy, son of Minister B.Gopalakrishna Reddy accusing him of causing threat to his life. In his complaint, he said that Sudhir Reddy with threatening in full public view to eliminate him in two months. He sought the Superintendent of Police R.Jayalakshmi to provide police protection in view of the threat.
  • Visakhapatnam:: Isha Foundation to set up its centres:; Sadguru Jaggi Vasudev’s Isha Foundation is planning to set up its spiritual centres here. Sources said that the district administration has reportedly identified 200 acres of land in Kummaripalem. District Collector said that they not yet submitted the proposal. The Isha Foundation has yet to finalize the proposal.
  • Visakhapatnam:: Certificate court on Gandhian Thoughts:: The Andhra University Gandhian Studies Centre plans to start a two-month certificate court on Gandhian Thoughts to inculcate Gandhian values. Its director ABSV Ranga Rao said that the objective of the course is to provide an opportunity for an intensive study on the life, philosophy and methodology of Mahatma Gandhi.   • Visakhapatnam:: IIM-Visakhapatnam gets new director:: Prof.Chandrasekhar, engineer and management professional has been appointed new director of IIM-Visakhapatnam on Friday. He was also the first Director of the Centre for Innovations in Public Systems established at ASCI at the recommendations of the Thirteenth Finance Commission.
  • Visakhapatnam:: Chaganti Koteswara Rao discourse at Ambica Baugh:: Spiritual orator Chaganti Koteswara Rao will deliver a discourse on ‘The Ramayana’ at Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy temple at Ambica Baugh from February 13 to 17.
