Telangana State seeks Rs. 2,514 crore aid
Telangana State Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma held discussions with the Central teams visiting the State to assess the drought situation prevailing in the State. The CS reported informed the teams that 231 mandals in the State are facing severe drought conditions. He also brought to their notice of the severe water problem prevailing due to drought conditions. He sought Rs. 531 crore only for Hyderabad for supply of water.

MPTC and ZPTC election results
The results of the MPTC and ZPTC by-elections announced today. TRS candidate Police Ramreddy won the ZPTC by-elections at Nawabpeta in Ranga Reddy district defeating his nearest Congress rival Mallareddy by a margin of 699 votes. In Shamshabad MPTC-2 by-elections, Congress candidate Reshma Sultana won with a margin of 17 votes while at Guruvakonda MPTC by elections, TRS candidate Lakshmamma won at Devarakonda in Mahabubnagar.

BPS scheme likely to be extended up to December 31
Andhra Pradesh State Government has reportedly extended the last date to regularize the unauthorized buildings and buildings constructed in violation by December 31, 2015. Sources said that the Government has received over 60,000 applications seeking regularization under the scheme from people living in urban areas. The State Government expects Rs.300 crore through the scheme.

Tollywood actor Varun Sandesh engaged to Vithika Sheru
Tollywood film actor Varun Sandesh on Monday got engaged to actor Vithika Sheru at a five-star hotel here. The actor confirming the engagement posted a photo in his twitter account. The actors close relatives and friends attended the function. The marriage is likely to take place at Bhimavaram in West Godavari district.

Experts committee estimates Rs.27,097 crore for construction of AP State Capital<be/> Union Minister for State for Home Affairs Haribhai Parthibhai Chaudary told to Lok Sabha that the Experts Committee has estimated Rs.27, 097 crore for construction of AP State Capital Amaravati. He tabled the report of Experts Committee in Lok Sabha. Construction of Buildings is estimated at Rs.10,519 crore and basic facilities at Rs 9,181 crore. He said that the Centre has released Rs.1850 crore during the financial year.

Government constitutes Agama advisory committee
Andhra Pradesh State Government has constituted a 11 member Agama Advisory Committee today. The committee is headed by Chirravuri Srirama Sarma of West Godavari as Chairman. The other members are Viswanadha Gopalakrishna (Principal of Oriental College), Nalluri Ramachandra Bhattacharya (Mangalagiri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy up Pradhanarchakulu), Morta Seetharamacharulu (Retired archaka of Simhachalam Varaha Lakshmi Nrusimha Devalayam), SMK Sadasiva (Kalahasteeswara Swamy retired archaka), Revanna Siddhanti (Kurnool), Jagannadha Sastry (West Godavari, Vidika Sastra Parishad), Chilakapati Tirumalachari (Retd., Lecturer, Tirupati), Raja S.Giri Acharaya (Mantralayam, Kurnool), Raghavaiah (Alluru Poleramma temple archaka), L.Subramanya Siddhanti (Kanchi Kamakoti). They will be in the office for a term of five years.

High Court gives green signal for filling up Junior Civil Judges
The Hyderabad High Court has given green signal for filling up of 150 Junior Civil Judges. The High Court has given permission to release screening schedule.

Special Train from Howrah to Chennai Egmore
Train No. Howrah-Chennai Egmore Special Train will depart Howrah at 00:15 hrs on 9th December, 2015 and arrive Chennai Egmore at 03:30 hrs on the next day. This special train will stop at Kharagpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Kurdha Raod, Brahmapur, Vizianagaram, Vishakapatnam, Rajamundry, Vijayawada, Tenali, o¬ngole, Nellore, Gudur and Sullurupeta Stations.

Krishna waters row
YSRCP has urged the State Government to prevail upon the Centre to change its stand and involve Maharashtra and Karnataka also in the re-distribution of Krishna river waters instead of confining the exercise to only Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. YSRCP agriculture cell chief M.V.S.Nagi Reddy said that the Centre’s stand in the apex court limiting the redistribution of waters to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh while leaving the upper riparian States would be a blow to the State.

BSNL Fancy number auction
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd will auction the fancy numbers from December 7 to 16 through online. The fancy mobile numbers can be had on the website and interest can bid the numbers said a release.


20 huts gutted in fire
As many as 20 huts were destroyed at Siddhartha Nagar behind the JNTU-Kakinada campus on Tuesday in a fire accident. However, no causalities and injuries were reported. Fire service personnel rushed the place and put out the flames. Temporary rehabilitation was arranged for residents of the hutments and an inquiry into the incident is in progress.


SVIMS organizes medical camp
Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) belonging to TTD organized a medical camp for the flood victims in Chennai. A 60 member contingent comprising super specialists and paramedical staff left for Chennai early on Tuesday in a bus followed by five ambulances and two four wheelers. The camp was held at Tondirpet and the fishing area of New Washermanpet in the flood hit North Chennai.


Liquor tragedy – State Government bans 9 brands
The State Government has temporarily banned nine brands of liquor in the State following the tragedy that took place at Krishnalanka in Vijayawada on Monday in which five persons were dead.The nine brands are Original Choice (batch no. 120), Royal Stag 26, DSP, Officers’ choice, AAB, McDowel’s whisky and brandy and Bagpiper.Meanwhile, the police have registered a case against Congress MLA Malladi Vishnu and others.

Jagan calls on liquor victims’ families and demanded payment of Rs.12 lakh to each family
YSRCP president Jagan Mohan Reddy today called on the families of those died in yesterday’s spurious liquor tragedy. He assured that YSRCP will ban liquor in the State if voted to power. He expressed his solidarity to stand by the families of the victims. He launched an attack on the government for encouraging liquor business. He listed out the details of income that the State got from liquor business. He said that Rs.6,632 crore during 2014 year while the sales have crossed Rs.7,035 crore by October this year. He said that the government has put a target to achieve Rs.12,000 crore by the year end. He reminded of the Chandrababu Naidu’s promise to weed out belt shops and now he auctions the same, he alleged. He said that the government is responsible for the tragedy and demanded payment of Rs.20 lakh ex gratia to each of the family who lost their lives.

South Zonal Council meet on December 12
Andhra Pradesh government will be hosting the 26th meeting of Southern Zonal Council, Ministry of Home Affairs here on December 12. The Southern Zonal Council comprise the States of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and the Union Territory of Puducherry and the purpose of the annual meeting is to promote the habit of cooperative working in several areas. The standing committee of the Council comprising of Chief Secretaries of the member States.

Paramedical counselling from December 16
The web counselling for admissions into B.Sc. (Nursing) and Physiotherapy, B.Sc. (BPT) (MLT) courses will be held from December 16, 2015 and efforts are being made in this direction by Dr.NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada. The counselling will be held for three days at Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, Hyderabad and Warangal Centres. University Vice Chancellor Dr.T.Ravi Raju said that the certificate verification will be taken up at the centres. A notification will be issued in a couple of days, he said.

DGP J.V.Ramudu visits Swarna Bar and Restaurant
Andhra Pradesh DGP J.V.Ramudu on Tuesday visited Swarna Bar and Restaurant. Speaking to press, he said that the department has taken the case very seriously and will not let any one whoever high they may be. He said that a case has already been registered against the bar. He said reports have to be received and he called on the ailing victims at Andhra Hospitals.


Four farmers arrested at Bhogapuram
Police arrested four farmers into custody for hindering land survey for the International Airport in Bhogapuram mandal on Tuesday. The land survey is going on despite stiff resistance from the farmers in an extent of 5,311 acres with the help of police. The farmer has confronted the eight member RITES team and obstructed the land survey. The arrested are Matta Narasinga Rao, Kollu Ramana Murty, K.Lakshma Reddy and Darapu Asirappa Reddy. With the arrests, a large number of women from the village staged protests for over an hour.


Five NAD workers hurt in fire accident
Five workers of Naval Armament Depot were injured in a freak fire accident on Tuesday morning. The condition of one worker is said to be critical. The accident occurred when the workers were carrying out the routine disposal of life expired ammunition at around 11am. It is learnt that some of the ammunition got ignited accidentally and resulted in fire in which the workers were injured. The injured are identified as V.Ramana, Suri Demudu, B.Harinath and Subhasanth while the fifth one is yet to be identified.
