Chintu driver Venkatesh arrested
The Chittoor police have so far arrested 11 persons accused in the murder of Chittoor Mayor Katari Anuradha and her husband Katari Mohan. The police have today arrested the driver of Chintu, Venkatesh who is the 3rd accused in the case. The police have taken him into custoday in the court premises. The police are on the hunt for another accused Mogali.
Telangana Government offers help
Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhara Rao on Wednesday said his government would extend all possible assistance to the Tamil Naidu. He asked the Chief Secretary, Rajiv Sharma to speak to his counterpart in Tamil Nadu Gnana Desikan. The CS spoke to his counterpart who thanked Telangana Government’s gesture. He promised to contact after holding consultations on the requirement of assistance.
Not to share information to press reporters
On the instructions of the Principal Secretary (Revenue), Special Secretary (Finance) Hema Munivenkatappa has issued circular on Wednesday to the concerned departments not to share information to the press persons. The circular stated that those who found having passed on the information to press will be held liable for actions in accordance with the service rules.
D.Ed first year results announced
D.Ed first year (spot admissions 2013-15) examination results were announced on Wednesday. Director of Examinations M.R.Prasanna Kumar announced of the same in a statement. The results are available on www.bseap.org.
TDP seeks Rs.1,000 crore for flood relief
The TDP has reiterated its request for release of Rs.1,000 crore as advance for taking up relief and restoration works in the flood affected districts of Andhra Pradesh. TDP MP Thota Narasimham said that the State had suffered huge losses due to torrential rain that lashed Nellore, Chittoor and Kadapa between November 14 to 22. The State Government had put the loss on account of calamity at Rs.3,819 crore.
Centre grants Rs.330 crore to State towards flood relief
Union Minister Rajnath Singh announced in Lok Sabha today that the Centre has released Rs.330 crore as interim relief to Andhra Pradesh for providing aid to rain affected people in the districts. It may be recalled that the State Government has requested for an immediate relief of Rs.1,000 crore.
High Court sentences one month imprisonment to Ranga Reddy District Collector
Hyderabad High Court has sentenced Ranga Reddy District Collector Raghunandana Rao one month imprisonment and a fine of Rs.12,000 for his failure to implement the court’s order in demolishing illegal constructions. However, the order was kept on hold for one month following representation of the Advocate General who seeks to file an appeal.
81 persons killed in the State due to rains
Home Minister N.Chinarajappa said that the heavy rains in the State for the last three weeks have claimed 81 lives while standing crop and infrastructure worth Rs.3,750 crore have been damaged. He said that the State Government has requested the Centre to release a sum of Rs.3,750 crore as instant help. He said that roads laid by Village Panchayats, ZPs, R&B have been washed away in several places while infrastructure loss is high in Nellore and Chittoor districts.
CPM Plenary from December 12, 2015
CPM national meet will be held here on December 12 and 13. The party cadre are making arrangements for the first plenary after the bifurcation of united Andhra Pradesh. Party national general secretary Seetharam Yechuri will inaugurate the meet. The CPM would announce Rs.3 lakhs towards flood victims and the party cadre would collect donates form the public from December 5 said party State secretary P.Madhu.
Chief Minister to visit on December 7
Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu will visit Srikakulam on December 7 and participate in Jana Chaitanya Yatra. The party leaders are making arrangements for his tour. He is expected to review progress of irrigation projects such as Vamsadhara Phase-2, Thotapalli and other projects.
Highway traffic remain suspended
Vehicular movement remained suspended in the two of the three routes from Tirupati to Chennai on Wednesday while restoration of the third route was underway from morning. Traffic came to a standstill on the Puttur-Trivuallur-Chennai and Puttur-Urthukota-Chennai routes.
Bag with Rs.10 lakhs creates flutter
A cloth bag containing Rs.10 lakh found on the road near a private school at Moghalrajpuram in the city created flutter on Wednesday. The unclaimed money was however later handed over to the police by the passersby. Police said that the bag slipped from the possession of a motor cycle borne persons according to a witness. People who opened the bag found wads of currency notes of Rs.500 and Rs.1000 denomination and they handed it over to the traffic police. The Commissioner of Police Gauatam Sawang ordered a probe.

Telugu film actors announced donations as relief to people who were in distress due to heavy rains in Chennai. Actors such as Jr.NTR announced Rs.10 lakh donation, Mahesh Babu announced Rs.10 lakhs while Allu Arjun announced Rs.25 lakh, Kalyan Ram announced Rs.5 lakh, Ravi Teja Rs.5 lakh, Varun Tej Rs.3 lakh, Sampoornesh Babu Rs.50,000 while Saidharam Tej announced Rs.3 lakh worth of food and medicines.
Chief Minister askes Chittoor and Nellore to be on alert
Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has instructed the district administrations of Nellore and Chittoor to be on high alert as more rains are forecast in the next two days. In a teleconference, he had with these two district collectors besides MPs and MLAs and other public representatives on Wednesday, he directed the health, rural water supply and sanitation departments to form teams and take up chlorination to curb spread of diseases and conduct medical camps.
New power billing system in villages
APEPDCL has decided to bill its customers in the rural segment every month instead of the earlier method of every two months. The new billing cycle will be adopted from January 1 at all villages in Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, Viziangaram, East and West Godavari districts according to its Director, Finance.
More rain expected to south coastal Andhra Pradesh
A low pressure has formed over the southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Sri Lanka off Tamil Nadu coast under the influence of the trough in the same area. Under the influence, heavy rain would occur at isolated places in Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam and Nellore districts on Friday and Godavari, Prakasam and Nellore districts on Saturday and Sunday according to weather forecast.
Navy sends two more ships to Chennai
The Eastern Naval Command has despatched two more ships from Visakhapatnam for relief operations in flood-hit Chennai. The two relief ships are likely to reach Chennai by Friday morning.
1.5 lakh passes for International Fleet Review
Over 1.5 lakh passes will be given to people to witness the International Fleet Review in February. Another 10,000 for officials and staff. Passes will be issued through Mee Seva centres in three colours – green, blue and red. The District Collector Dr.N.Yuvraj and City Police Commissioner Amit Garg discussed about the arrangements. Visitors would be brought to the venue by buses after paring their cars and two wheelers at AU Grounds .
Three inter-State smugglers arrested
The Araku Valley police seized about 460 kg of dry ganja and arrested three inter-State smugglers in two separate incidents when the drug peddlers were transporting the contraband in the boot of a Honda City car and a SUV today. All the arrested belong to Delhi according to police.
Maoists conduct meeting at Gilagondi
On the second day of PLGA week observation, the banned CPI (Maoist) has reportedly conducted a public meeting at Gilagondi village near Gunukurayi in GK Veedhi mandal on Thursday as part of support to Girijans campaign against State and Central governments’ plan to start bauxite mining in the Agency.
Assistant Professor Madhavi was placed under suspension
Former MP Siricilla Rajaiah’s wife Madhavi who is working as Assistant Professor in Arts and Science College of Kakatiya University was on Wednesday placed under suspension. She was accused in the death case of her daughter-in-law Sarika and her three sons and is under remand. It may be recalled that Sarika along with her three sons were burnt alive on the early hours of November 3 at her residence.
