Gold plated main entrance at the temple inaugurated
Home Minister Nimmakayala Chinarajappa formally inaugurated the gold plated entrance of the famous shrine of Sri Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Swamy atop Ratnagiri hillock in the district. Management of Peddapuram based Sri Lalitha Enterprises has borne the expenses of the gold plating.
Chintu’s interrogation turns highly confidential
The Chittoor police who are investigating the murder case of Chittoor Mayor Katari Anuradha and her husband Katari Mohan on Tuesday interrogated Chandrasekhar alias Chintu, the prime accused in the case at an unspecified location in Kadapa. It may be recalled that Chintu has surrendered before the First Class Magistrate on Monday amidst high drama and was shifted to Kadapa Central Prison following the court awards 14 days remand till December 14. Chittoor police have obtained police custody from December 1 to 14 and the accused should be interrogated between 6am to 6pm.
Katari couple murder case — Police arrests advocate
The Chittoor police have arrested advocate Anand for giving shelter to Chintu, the prime accused in the murder of Katari Anuradha, Mayor, Chittoor and her husband Katari Mohan. The police are on their search for the other accused Venkatesh and Mogali.
YSRCP ridicules TDP Jana Chaitanya Yatra
YSRCP terming the Jana Chaitanya Yatra of Telugu Desam Party government as a deceptive exercise said the awakening should come within the ruling party as the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has filed to fulfil his poll promises and there neither reason nor base for the Yatra. YSRCP PAC member Ambati Rambabu said that during the one and half year Chandrababu rule not even a single poll promise was fulfilled and the Yatra has absolutely no meaning as the government has nothing to tell about other than anti-people policies.
324 posts sanctioned for Social Welfare Ashram schools
The State Government has sanctioned for filling up of 324 teaching and non-teaching posts in Social Welfare Ashram Schools according to APFF State president and general secretary said in a statement.
Recruitment soon through APPSC
Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu participating in Jana Chaitanya Yatra at Vemuru said that the recruitment process will soon be taken up by APPSC to fill up the vacant posts.
Mutyalanaidu appointed as VC of Adikavi Nannayya University
Prof.Murru Mutyalanaidu has been appointed as the Vice Chancellor of Adikavi Nannayya University in Rajahmundry. Mutyala Naidu hails from Madugula from Visakhapatnam from an agricultural family back ground. He is currently working as Professor in Management at Krishna Devaraya University, Anantpuram. Earlier, he worked as Registrar of EFL and also Executive Director, MAA TV.
Celkon Mobiles launches first tablet made in Telangana
The first tablet made in Telangana State by Celkon mobiles was launched on Tuesday. The seven inch tab, CT 722 supported by Intel chipset with 1.2GHz quad core processor is also enabled with 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM was manufactured by the company’s Medchal unit. The Tab was priced at Rs.4,999.
Minister Kollu Ravindra attacks YSRCP activist
As part of TDP Jana Chaitanya Yatra, the Minister Kollu Ravindra and some of the TDP activists attacked YSRCP gram sarpanch Kalyani’s husband Sonti Farid with party flag wooden stick. Farid along with some farmers have asked the minister and TDP activists not to conduct Jana Chaitanya Yatra till the withdrawal of notification of land acquisition. Following this, there was some heated arguments between the both the parties. The YSRCP party cadre raised slogans '’Kollu Ravindra down..down’ etc., and the minister furious over this attacked them. During this course, the Municipal vice chairman Kasi Viswanadham and TDP State secretary Konkalla Bullayya along with party cadre attacked the farmers.
Study circles for Muslim minorities
Minister for Minorities Palle Raghunath Reddy said that the government would soon establish Study Circles for Muslim minorities. He announced of this while participating in Jana Chaitanya Yatra in Chinaturakapalem in Narasaraopeta mandal of Guntur on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that there were 65,000 acres of Waqf lands and 40,000 acres have been grabbed by the time TDP came to power. He said that the government has formed committees headed by the District Collectors as its chairman to get them into main stream.
State Government’s White paper is only a false document, says Vundavalli
Former MP from Rajahmundry Vundavalli Arun Kumar on Tuesday demanded the government release a genuine document with facts and participate in an open debate on the burning issue of bauxite mining. He termed it as a false document. Speaking to press, he said instead of announcing the facts about the mining issues to the public, the government resorted to mislead the people by releasing inaccurate information. He said that instead of criticizing YSR or Jagan, the government should come out with facts. He recalled the opposition from the Tribal Advisory Committee when Chandrababu opposed bauxite mining during his rule, Arun Kumar said that the committee opposed the similar proposal tabled by the late YSR government. Interestingly, Chandrababu is now trying to divert the attention form the issue and resorting to blame game’, he said.
40th All India Agricultural University VCs meet
The 40th All India Agricultural University Vice-Chancellor’s convention is set to commence at Fortune Select Grande Ridge Hotel from today. The event is being hosted by the Acharya N.G.Ranga Agricultural University. The central theme – ‘Prepositioning Agricultural Universities for Target Food Production by 2030. The convention will delve on topics such as agricultural education, research and extension to meet the changing demands along with celebrations centered on six sub themes. Maoists to observe PLGA week from today
The banned CPI(Maoist) observes its 15th annual People’s Liberation Gurerrilla Army (PLGA) week from Wednesday in the background of heightened tension after the State Government issued GO No.97 facilitating bauxite mining in the Jerrela area of Chintapalli in the Visakhapatnam Agency. The PLGA week is being observed since 2000 from the first anniversary of killing of three members of its Central Committee members in Koyyuru forest area in Karimnagar district on December 2, 1999.
Bauxite agreements are meant to benefit private sector, says Brinda Karat
The CPI(M) Polit Bureau member Brinda Karat said that the TDP government’s bauxite mining in the Visakha Agency is meant to benefit the private parties. Speaking to media, she said that in the first place the MoU was entered into with the company without consultation or discussion with Tribal people whose life would be disrupted if not destroyed by the activity. The MoU entered into by the AP Mineral Development Corporation with Anarak and Jindal were done in a non-transparent manner which shows that it is only drawn up to benefit the private parties, she said. Brinda Karat said that both the BJP led NDA at the Centre and the TDP in the State are cheating the public by not pressing for Special Category Status. On Bhogapuram Green Field Airport, she said that there is no need for another airport at Bhogapuram which is just 40 kms away from Visakhapatnam. She visited villages where the airport has been proposed addressed a huge gathering.
