Police books case against Railway SP
The Government Railway Police Secunderabad, on directions from the High Court, registered a case against Superintendent of Police – Government Railway Police Secunderabad, S.J. Janardhan. On Thursday, a woman working in the office of the SP had approached the High Court alleging that the official and two other employees had sexually harassed her in the office on July 30. The GRP has registered a case u/s 354 and 506 of IPC.

Special Task Force for girls and women safety
Andhra Pradesh State Government has on Thursday constituted a 13 member State level Task Force for safety of girls and women under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary I.Y.R.Krishna Rao. It is created to ensure effective implementation of various measures by multiple departments for their safety. The task force will meet to finalize road maps with actionable points for safety of girls and women in the State.

TRS MLA Gudem Mahipal Reddy sentenced to jail
Sangareddy Additional Judicial First Class Magistrate has sentenced the TRS MLA Gudem Mahipal Reddy (Patancheruvu) for two and half years imprisonment and a fine of Rs.2,500 for extorting money from an industrialist. However, the execution has been postponed for a month fallowing an appeal by him to go for appeal.

TRS bags three MLC seats unopposed
TRS has won three MLC seats Warangal, Adilabad and Medak unanimously. The Congress, TDP and Independents have withdrawn their nominations making the election unanimous. Puranam Satish from Adilabad, Bhupal Reddy from Medak and Konda Murali from Warangal were elected unopposed and a formal announcement has to come from Election Commission. The last date for withdrawal of nominations is Saturday and the polling will be held on December 27. Counting of votes will be taken up on December 30.

Police books case against Goshmahal MLA Raja Singh
A case has been slapped on Goshmahal MLA Raja Singh on Friday for his harsh behavior with the cops. He was arrested on Friday for obstructing ‘Beef Festival’ and was shifted to Bollaram Police Station. During a heated debate with the cops, he abused the Circle Inspector and basing on it, the police registered a case against him.

GHMC elections on January 17
Sources said that the much awaited Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections will be held on January 17, 2016. A notification will be announced within a day or two said sources. A 50 per cent reservation has been reportedly given to women.

Beef festival -Police arrested 11 OU students
The OU police have arrested 11 students who were found guilty of violating the High Court orders on the conduct of the beef festival on Thursday and produced them in the court. Police said that they were arrested on the basis of evidence they could gather for violating High Court orders. The students were charged with sections relating to creating public nuisance, disturbing communal harmony and violation of the prevailing Police Commissioner’s orders. Sources said that the main organizers were not arrested.

Maharashtra clears barrage construction by Telangana
The Maharashtra government has in principle accorded permission to Telangana State Government to construct below the inter-State project of Lower Penganga of Chanaka. A communication was sent to Principal Secretary (Irrigation) of Telangana by his Maharashtra counterpart Satish Gavai.


YSRCP Corporator stabs party activist
YSRCP leader and Corporator Rajagopala Reddy and his brother Ramprasad Reddy, a financier allegedly stabbed a party activist Bandi Muni Reddy in the Chinna Chowk area in the town on Thursday. They both came on a two wheeler and attacked him who ws having tea near Apsara circle said police. The victim was rushed to the hospital and is recovering. Financial dispute is said to be the motto behind the attack, said police.

Explosives seized
Police seized 15 kgs of ammonium nitrate, 225 gelatin sticks and 3400 metres of fuse wire from a tractor during vehicle checking in Veldurthi town in the district. The police took the driver Nallagonda Narasaiah into custody and the accused said that the explosives for mining purposes but did not carry the explosives without any valid documents said police.


Maoists kill Nellore native
A Nellore native, Penubolu Venkata Reddy, 52 was allegedly shot dead by Maoist in the forests of Jharkhand on Wednesday night. S.Venkata Reddy was reportedly working as a site manager for a contractor who was carrying out canal construction works in Jamshedpur area. He was first kidnapped along with another person and taken into deep forests. When Venkata Reddy refused to give the phone numbers of the contractor, Maoists allegedly shot him dead.

ACB seizes Rs. two crore property from Head Master’s house
The Anti-Corruption Bureau officials conducted a raid on the residence of V.Suresh, Head Master of a missionary school located at Kanuparthypadu and seized property documents worth Rs.2 crore of unaccounted wealth on Thursday. ACB teams from Nellore, Prakasam and Anantapur districts conducted simultaneous raids on the premises belonging to the head master and his friends and relatives. The officials found that documents relating house sites and agricultural lands in Nellore district and other places.


SBI’s first in touch digital branch to open today
The first in Touch Digital Banking branch of State Bank of India in the State will be opened at Asilametta junction today. The facility will be inaugurated by the Bank’s Chairperson Arundhati Bhattacharya remotely through video conferencing. The new facility enables instant opening of account, instant loan approvals, expert advice through video links and issue of personalized debit cards. Customers can open Savings Bank accounts and other Term Deposits account within five minutes at the Account Opening Kiosk at the branch.

Former Enforcement officer gets two years jail term
CBI Special judge G.Sunitha on Thursday sentenced former Employees Provident Fund Organization Enforcement Officer Vardhanapu Jayalatha to two year simple imprisonment for abusing her official position. She was caught red handed while she was accepting a bribe of Rs.10,000 from a complainant G.Jayasekhar the proprietor of Sri Lakshmi Engineering Works Moghalipuram, Vijayawada. She had demanded the bribe for giving a favorable report in favour of the firm. The accused has also been directed to pay a fine of Rs.15,000. Malladi Srinivas arrested in liquor case
The police have arrested Malladi Srinivas today. Srinivas is the brother of former Congress MLA Malladi Vishnu. Police found that adulteration was done at the bar itself and was done with the help of Bar manager Venkatarao. It may be recalled that five persons have lost lives and many people were hospitalized after taking spurious liquor at Swarna Bar in Krishna Lanka in Vijayawada

Police raids on the office of Call money office
During the raids today the police had seized promissory notes that valued over crores of rupees. The task force officials have seized 35 videos by blackmailing young women. The police have registered a case under Nirbhya Act on 12 call money businessmen.
