State borrowings cross over Rs.10,000 crore
With the State’s latest tranche of market borrowings of Rs. 1,500 crore credited into the State treasury on Wednesday, its financial situation eased to some extent. The State whose cash balance kept dwindling with expenditure overshooting the accruals had to resort to ways and means facility to meet its daily expenditure till Tuesday. With the latest loan, the market borrowings touched Rs. 10,550 crore during this financial year.

YSRCP demands TDP to spell out its stand on prohibition
A day after YSRCP president Jagan Mohan Reddy announced of his party’s would impose total prohibition in the State if voted to power, it has demanded the TDP government to spell out its stand on the issue. Party spokesperson K.Parthasarathi on Wednesday asked the TDP to declare whether it would impose total prohibition in the State.

MLA Raja Singh arrested
Police have today arrested Goshmal MLA Raja Singh was arrested at 6am today at his residence who has given a call to obstruct the ‘beef festival’ at OU. He was shifted to Shahianatgang PS. The BJP activists have staged a demonstration for immediate release of the arrested MLA and attempted to seize the Police Station.

Konda Murali elected as MLC unanimously
WARANGAL::TRS candidate Konda Murali elected as MLC unanimously for Warangal seat following withdrawal of five independent candidates today. He is the lone candidate who filed nomination for the MLC and an official announcement has to come out.


IGNOU offers new courses
Indira Gandhi National Open University has introduced new courses for its January 2016 session. Regional Director of the University’s Visakhapatnam regional centre S.Raja Rao said Diploma in critical Care Nursing, Certificate in Newborn and Infant Care and certificate in Maternal and Child Health Nursing were the new courses introduced by the university. He said that graduate and postgraduate level courses are in addition to these courses, he said.


Central team visits Krishna district
A three member Central Team on drought led by B.C.Mehra of the Ministry of Rural Development on Wednesday inspected drought-hit areas in Krishna district. They inspected the agriculture fields where paddy crop was damaged in the Kharif-2015 due to lack of rainfall in Bapulapudu and Nandivada mandals in the district. Farmers urged the officials to provide crop insurance based on the land survey numbers instead of village as a unit.


School bus overturns killing one child
One UKG student Nujarla Rishita (5) killed when a Sun Shine school bus carrying the students back to home after closure of school at Bypass road in Bradipet on Wednesday evening. As many as ten student were injured. The accident took place when the bus hit a divider and overturned. Locals say that heavy speed is the cause of the accident.


PLGA week passed off peacefully The annual People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army week observed by the banned CPI(Maoist) form December 2 passed off peacefully in the Visakha Agency.
