ACB officials raid DPO’s houses
Sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) launched simultaneous search operations at the residences of the District Panchayat Officer Sridhar Reddy and his relatives on Monday. The raids went on at 10 places including Eluru, Vijayawada, Tanuku, Kadapa and Hyderabad. The raids are being conducted following corruption charges against the DPO.

High Court directive to Agricultural Secretary
A Division Bench of the High Court comprising of Acting Chief Justice Dilip B Bhosale and Justice S.V.Bhatt on Monday directed the Secretary Agriculture of Andhra Pradesh government to appear before the court on Tuesday in the case of suicides of farmers. The Bench was dealing with a writ petition filed by Sri Hari Rao and others seeking direction to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana governments to take remedial steps to prevent suicides by farmers. The Bench wanted to know the response of the Andhra Pradesh Government and felt that it was not serious and called for the presence of the Secretary in Court.

School girl delivers boy in washroom
A 13 year old high school student has delivered a boy in her school washroom in Madhapur. The tribal girl developed pains during class and she had no idea of what was happening informed the teacher who asked her to go to washroom where she has delivered a baby. The authorities have informed the birth of the child to her parents. None of the 20 teachers of which 13 are women, have noticed that the girl is pregnant. Preliminary information says that one Dinesh who used to accompany her might be responsible for her pregnancy.

APBIRD issues notification for free training programme for unemployed youth.
The selected candidates will be given free boarding and lodging at the institute and will also be paid transport charges. The training will be given in computer software and hardware to those who passed intermediate while pump sets repair, electrical servicing at houses for those who passed X class. Only male candidates are eligible for this and the training class will be held from December 18 to February 2.

Medical student commits suicide
A medical student Bhavani (22) has committed suicide on Monday night by hanging herself at her resident at P&T colony, Medipalli in Uppal limits. Sources said that she took the extreme step following dispute with her husband. Bhavani belongs to Warangal and got married with Domala Prudviraj in 2014. She is studying medicine. The police registered a case and are investigating.

Aadhaar Card number not necessary for SSC examinations
Sources said that the Telangana Government has reportedly instructed the officials not to make mandatory of submitting Aadhaar number for the students to take up SSC examinations cancelling it’s earlier orders. It may be recalled that on November 28, the government has made it mandatory of submitting the Aadhaar number for taking up the examinations.

Airtel announces Project Leap
Bharti Airtel, the major telecom player has announced its ambitious plan ‘Project Leap’ with an investment of Rs. 60,000 crore for improving its network service and customer base. Under the project, Airtel will deploy over 70,000 stations in 2015-16 and will deploy over 1,60,000 base stations in three year period. It aims to cover over 2,50,000 villages by March next and provide broadband services to over 5 lakh villages in the country. Over a period of three years, Airtel plans to deploy over 1,00,000 solutions through a combination of Wi-Fi hotspots, small cells and indoor solutions

Jammalamadugu MLA Adinarayana Reddy’s mother Venkata Subbamma (84) died today due to age related ailments. She was undergoing treatment at Star Hospital here and had her last breath today.

Unknown persons set ablaze harvested groundnut
Unknown persons set on fire a large heap of groundnut crop harvested in a ten acre field belonging to talari Ramudu in Hampa village at Maddikera mandal of Kurnool district in the early hours of Monday. The ground nut harvest was reduced to ashes causing an estimated loss of Rs 1.5 lakh. Police have registered a case.

More rains in Coastal Andhra
According to a report by the Meteorological Centre, Hyderabad, heavy rainfall will occur at isolated places in Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam and Nellore districts till December 2. The Visakhapatnam Cyclone Warning Centre authorities have warned fishermen to be cautious while venturing into sea for fishing till Tuesday evening. Strong winds from the north-easterly direction with speed reaching between 45 to 50 kmph are likely along coastal Andhra Pradesh. Meanwhile, the authorities have shifted more than 800 people to safer places in Kavali and Allur mandals on Monday. District Water Management Agency Project Director Ramachandra Reddy said that the officials are monitoring the situation from the control room at the Collectorate.

Anam brothers to join TDP on Wednesday
Senior Congress leaders Anam Ramnarayan Reddy and Anam Vivekananda Reddy will be joining TDP on Wednesday morning at 9 am in presence of TDP president Nara Cahandrababu Naidu. Many Congress activists of the leaders are expected to follow them to TDP.

Andhra Pradesh State Director General Office was inaugurated here by DGP J.V.Ramudu on Monday at his camp office. The DGP office is very close to the Chief Minister’s camp office. The officers’ club has been converted into the camp office of the DGP.

VIMS will be autonomous
Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that VIMS super-specialty hospital will be autonomous. He said that there was a proposal to bring it under Directorate of Medical Education instead of keeping it autonomous like NIMS and SIMS and it was opposed. The Chief Minister has asked the Health Minister and Chief Secretary to work out plans for VIMS, he said and it would be made operational by January 14.

The World AIDS Day is being observed today with the slogan ‘getting to zero’, since a lot has been achieved in reducing the incidence of HIV/AIDS and India and world are moving towards achieving zero incidence of the dreaded disease said Joint Collector-II D.V.Reddy. A short film ‘Hero’ was produced by an employee of KGH Blood Bank, Shankar will be released to create awareness.

AU Vice Chancellor gets Lifetime Achievement Award-2015
Vietnam National University of Education has presented ‘Lifetime Achievement Award-2015’ to Andhra University Vice Chancellor GSN Raju in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the field of education and research. Speaking to press, he said that Andhra University will introduce a six-month diploma course in soft skills shortly.
