ATM decamped with Rs.20 lakh

Chittoor:: Some unidentified persons on Saturday evening struck at an ATM of the SBI at Nakkaladinne locality in Madanapalle town reportedly decamped with Rs.20 lakh. A gas cutter was used to open the ATM. The ATM room has no light or security guard or a CC camera. Police sources said that they had launched a special party to nab the culprits.

’Release White Paper on public felicitations’

Tirupati:: Former MP Chinta Mohan today criticized the ridiculous amounts being used for public felicitations and termed it a gross misuse of public money. Speaking to media, Dr.Mohan demanded that the State government release a White Paper on such events organized in Tirupati and Amaravati. ‘Right from banners to using people for the event is uncalled for’, he said.

Rich tributes paid to YSR

Srikakulam:: Both the YSRCP and Congress paid floral tributes separately to the former Chief Minister Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy on the occasion of his death anniversary. YSRCP district president Reddi Shanti and other leader said that the long term vision of YSR had ensured rapid development in the State. She said that thousands of families from the poor got benefitted with Indiramma housing scheme, Arogya Sri, fee-reimbursement and other programmes. In another function held at Indira Vignan Bhavan, DCC president Dola Jagan and AP Youth Congress general secretary Chowdary Satish recalled the contributions of YSR.

Maoist leader surrenders

Chinturu (East Godavari):: A member of the CPI(Maoist) Kaka Mudriraj alias Raju, a resident of Gangileru village of Kunta mandal in Chhattisgarh surrendered before the Additional SP Amburajan and Sub Divisional Police Officer O.Dilip Kiran on Saturday. The accused participated in six major incidents including three major exchanges of fire in which the CRPF suffered many causalities in the last three years.

Fire in temple kitchen

Tirumala:: For the second time in the year, a minor fire broke out at the boondi-making kitchen situated outside the main temple of Lord Venkateswara Swamy on Saturday. However, there was no loss to property or any causalities. The fire fighting personnel rushed and brought the fire under control.

KCP unit bags energy efficiency award

Vijayawada:: KCP Limited, Cement Unit-II, Rmakrishnapuram has been recognized as an excellent energy efficient unit by the CII. GVK Prasad of KCP Ltd., received the 18th National Award for Excellence in Energy Management-2017 from Ajay Mishra, Special Chief Secretary, Energy, Telangana Government at a function.

Chief Minister seeks report on hybrid vehicles

Vijayawada:: Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu suggested to the MD of Toyota Kirlosakar Motor Pvt Ltd.., Akito Tachibana to come up with a detailed report on the introduction of plug-in hybrid vehicles in the State by the Japanese automobile giant. In a meeting with the Chief Minister on Saturday, Tachibana said the vehicles were both engine-driven and could be electrically charged.
