Kurnool:: Sudarshan, Deputy Tehsildar working in Rayachoti of Kadapa district was trapped by ACB demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs.10,000 from one B.Srinivasulu for issuing no objection certificate for setting up outlet on Rayachoti-Galiveedu road according to Kadapa ACB DSP Nagaraju.
Srikakulam:: Former Minister and YSRCP general secretary Dharmana Prasada Rao on Tuesday asked the party cadre to give wide publicity for the ‘Navaratnalu’ announced by the party to ensure welfare of all sections after coming to power. He said that the benefits of the schemes should be explained to the people during ‘YSR kutumbam’ programme to be taken up from September 14. He addressed the booth level coordinators at a meeting organized here.
Vijayawada:: A two-day Collector’s conference will be held at A Convention Centre on September 20 and 21. Chief Secretary Dinesh Kumar has issued orders to the District Collectors in this regard. Double digit growth problems in the departments, rainfall, impact of GST on revenue collections are some of the issue that are likely to come up for discussion during the meet. A focus on completion of 28 projects in 100 days is also likely to take a Centre stage at the meeting.
Kurnool:: An Intermediate second year student, Vanaja (17) of Sainathapuram in Mydukur town of Kadapa district died of dengue fever on Tuesday. She was suffering from high fever since a week and was taken to a private hospital where doctors diagnosed her to have contracted dengue. On the advice of the doctors, the girl was shifted to Kurnool general hospital where she died while undergoing treatment.
Kirlampudi:: Former Minister and Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham has said that the next plan of action will be announced on December 6 if the State government fails to act on Kapu reservations by that time. In an open letter to the Chief Minister that was released to media, he alleged that Chandrababu was dilly-dallying on the issue. He said that earlier, he had written so many letters to the Chief Minister for which he did not respond.
Vijayawada:: APCC president N.Raghuveera Reddy said that democracy was murdered in the elections held in Nandyal and Kakinada recently and the EC failed to act despite complaints by the Congress. Speaking to media after a meeting, he said that the Congress filed a complaint with evidence to the EC on violations but the panel failed to respond. He said that the TDP carried the BJP flag in the pocket in Nandyal and in the open in Kakinada while YSRCP carried the BJP flag in pocket both in Nandyal and Kakinada. He said that the birth centenary of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi would be celebrated for 48 days from October 2 to November 19.
