Government doctor placed under suspension

Kurnool:: Special Chief Secretary, Medical and Health, Anil Chandra Punetha issued orders today placing David Raju, an orthopaedician at the Proddatur Government Hospital in Kadapa district. He allegedly tried to attack hospital superintendent Lakshmi Prasad with a syringe filled with HIV infected blood on August 18. Officials of the department and the police conducted an inquiry and submitted reports following which Dr. David Raju was suspended.

Purnandam is Rector of JNTUK

Kakinada:: K.Purnanandam has been appointed Rector of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada and V.Ravindranath has been appointed Director of Library Science and EDC of the university. Similarly, K.Babulu has been appointed Director of the Institute. The orders have been issued today and the officials joined their new posts according to a press release.

Anna Sanjivini' generic medical stores in 42 tribal mandals soon

Vijayawada:: The Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty has prepared the ground for setting up of 'Anna Sanjivini' generic medical stores in 42 tribal mandals soon. SERP CEO P.Krishna Mohan stated in a review meeting on Friday that lands were being identified and steps taken to secure licence for the stores that were intended to make medicines available at affordable price to the poor. He said that youth with B.Pharm and Pharm.D degrees were being picked up to man the stores.
