BJP giving top priority to welfare of OBCs

Vijayawada:: BJP leader and former Minister Kanna Lakshminarayana has said that the party is giving highest priority to the empowerment of Other Backward Classes. He was addressing the OBC Morcha office-bearers from Krishna and Guntur districts on Wednesday. Morcha State president Jalli Madhusudan and State general secretary P.Ravi Kumar were among those present.

Panel to oversee ‘Mission MCROT’

Vijayawada:: The Panchayat Raj and Rural Development has constituted a committee for implementation of Mission Mechanized Cleaning of Rural Overheads Tanks which is intended to provide safe drinking water in villages. It will be headed by the Commissioner of PR&RD. Special Secretary (PR&RD) and Engineer-in-Chief (PR) will be its members.

Tirumala:: Minister for Endowments P.Manikyala Rao today said that the board of trustees to govern the temple of Lord Venkateswara Swamy will be announced soon. He said the declaration of the new board will be made by the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu soon after his return from the foreign tour.

Writer Srinivasa Rao gets Vimala Puraskar

Anantapur:: Dr. Chintakindi Srinivasa Rao was selected for the ‘Vimala Santi Sahitya Puraskaram-2017’ . Santi Rajinikanth Smaraka Katha Puraskar organizer Dr.Santi Narayana announced on Wednesday. Srinivasa Rao was extending various social services as a journalist and prominent writer. The Puraskar was given for his compilation of stories ‘Kanpula Dibba’.

Brahmin Corporation Chairman salary fixed at Rs.1 lakh

Amaravati:: The State government has fixed Rs.1 lakh as salary to the Chairman of AP Brahmin Welfare Corporation Chairman Vemuri Ananda Surya. The salary will be paid out of the funds of the corporation. Rs.50,000 would be paid as House Rent. The chairman will have five personal staff including furniture, telephone facility. This will come into effect from the date Ananda Surya assumes charge as the Chairman of the Corporation.
