Seminar on Ilaiah’s book

Kakinada:: United SC, ST Forum in association with Dalit organizations and Left parties is organizing a seminar on ‘Kancha Ilaiah’s work-freedom of speech and expression in the city on October 29. Prof.Ilaiah will attend the seminar.

Case booked against MLA

Denuluru (WG District):: A case has been registered against Denduluru MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar for allegedly trying to attack some people of Lingaraogudem on the outskirts of Eluru. According to the women who lodged a complaint against the MLA, Prabhakar and his supporters visited their area as part of the ‘Intintiki Telugu Desam’ programme. When they sought laying of drains and roads in their colony, the MLA and his supporters abused and tried to attack them.

Chief Minister reviews Amaravati designs

Vijayawada:: Chief Minsiter N Chandrababu Naidu visited London along with the team on Tuesday. His visit to London was preceded by a three-day visit to UAE. In London, he studied the local transport system and reviewed the final designs submitted by the Norman Foster and Partners for construction of the State Assembly and High Court buildings at the latter’s office.

55 taken ill following food poisoning

Kakinada:: As many as 55 people from Yellamilli village in Gandepalli mandal of East Godavari district fell ill after consuming non-vegetarian food during a religious event. They were admitted to the area hospital. The local church conducted fasting prayers for three days from Friday and hosted a grand lunch for them on Sunday afternoon. Following symptoms of diarrhoea, they were taken to private hospitals on Monday and were shifted to the area hospital. Home Minister Nimmakayala Chinarajappa who was participating in the ‘Intintiki TDP programme visited the hospital and interacted with the patients and their relatives.

Rs.5 lakh insurance to RTC employees

Amaravati:: APSRTC management has decided to extend life insurance coverage to its employees up to Rs.5 lakh. The insurance coverage covers accidental and natural death. The RTC management has announced of the decision on Tuesday. The RTC management had entered into a MoU with Bajaj Alliance Life Insurance Company. For the insurance coverage, every employee has to pay Rs.1,484 per year as its premium and will be recovered from the employees’ salary. Those on the rolls as on November 1 will come under the purview, said RTC sources.

Amaravati:: The Principal Secretary for General Administration Srikanath has issued a notification of establishing State Human Rights in the State. This will function with Amaravati as its headquarters.

Students studying in Ohio university gets fee concession

Amaravati:: HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that the students who are studying in Ohio University in America will get fee concession. This will benefit the students to an extent of Rs.10 lakh. He said that the government has entered an MoU with the university and will come into force from January next year. He said that a committee would be appointed to oversee the implementation of the pact. The fee concession would be made available to graduation, post-graduation and MS courses.

Devendra Reddy appointed as YSRCP Social media coordinator

Hyderabad:: YSRCP has appointed G.Devendra Reddy as its social media coordinator according to a release by the party office here. He is till now State party IT wing general secretary.
