IIIT student SPLN Murty commits suicide

Vijayawada:: Sagireddy Purna Lakshmi Narasimha Murty, a student of Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies, Nuzvid (IIIT) committed suicide in his hostel room by hanging himself from the ceiling fan. The victim hails from Malkipuram in East Godavari district was in the first year of the pre-university course as part of the five-year engineering programme. District Collector B.Lakshmi Kantham ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident.

Elected chairman of IAAC

Hyderabad:: Director of Phoenix Group Srikanth Badiga has been elected chairman of the AP and Telangana State chapter of the India American Chamber of Commerce for 2017-18. He who takes over Chandrijit Narra is holding several important positions in various bodies including chairman of Assocham Telangana Development Council and president of SEZ Association of AP and Telangana.

RSVP Vice-Chancellor to visit Spain

Tirupati:: As part of the four member delegation nominated by the Sahitya Academic, the Vice Chancellor of Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha V.Muralidhara Sharma will be taking part in the roundtable/panel discussion on ‘Relevance of Sanskrit today’ at several leading universities in Spain between October 18 to 20. The three other experts are Kamalesh Dutt (Varanasi), Rajendra Prasad Mishra (Shimla) and Leela Sampangere Rangachar Dharini (Bengaluru).

15 passengers rescued from stranded RTC bus

Kurnool:: Local residents recused 15 passengers of an APSRTC bus that got stranded in water flowing on a breached causeway across Bahuda river near Bestapalle village in Tsundupalle mandal of Kadapa on Thursday. The bus stopped mid-way through on the old causeway that party washed away by flood waters. Two earthmovers were deployed to retrieve the bus from the cause way.

Dantuluri Dilip Kumar joins YSRCP

Hyderabad:: Congress senior leader and proprietor of Sugarcane factory from Anakapalli of Visakhapatnam district Dantuluri Dilip Kumar today joined YSRCP in presence of Jagan Mohan Reddy. On the other hand, Amaravati former MPP Vempa Jwala Narasimha Rao too joined the party.

M.Padma appointed as MD of Brahmin Welfare Corporation

Amaravati:: M.Padma has been appointed as the Managing Director of AP Brahmin Welfare Corporation. Government special principal secretary Manmohan Singh has issued orders to this effect.
