ANU to have bio-medical lab

Acharya Nagarjuna University has signed a MoU with University of Switzerland to set up a Miniaturized Wireless Multichannel Electrophysiological Signal lab which helps in manufacturing various biomedical equipment. Vice Chancellor A.Rajendraprasad signed the MoU with Professor of Biomedical Technology, University of Switzerland, Enrico M.Standerini on Wednesday to set up the land on university campus.

SVU professor in APAS body

Tirupati:: Kota Nagendra Prasad professor of civil engineering at SV University College of Engineering, has been chosen as a Fellow of the Andhra Pradesh Academy of Sciences. The APAS general body will formally induct him at an exclusive session on November 7.

Assembly session in November

Vijayawada:: The AP Legislative Assembly is going to have a combined monsoon and winter session in the first week of November according to Speaker Dr.Kodela Siva Prasada Rao. He said after meeting with the Vice-President M.Venkaiah Naidu and HRD Minister Jaya Prakash Javadekar on Tuesday that the session would last for 10 days. He will take part in a meeting chaired by Lok Sabha Speaker on the Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference to be held in Dhaka.

Government will fill panchayat secretary posts soon

Vijayawada:: Minister for Panchayat Raj and IT Nara Lokesh said that the State government as decided to fill up 4,000 panchyat secretaries posts that are lying vacant. Speaking to media, he said that the posts would be filled through outsourcing. The government would also conduct elections to 350 sarpanch posts that were vacant due to various reasons, he said.

Cricket bookies arrested

Rajamahendravaram:: The urban police arrested cricket bookies who were involved in betting business on India versus Australia T20 match that was played in Guwahati. ASP Reddy Gangadhara Rao at a press meet said that the DSP of North Zone, and other officers raided a house in Dasarivari stret in Gokavaram today and arrested V.Nageswara Rao, K.Satish, M.Srinivas, D.Venkata Suresh, T.Veera Kumar, D.Ganesh and others and seized Rs.3.30 lakh, mobile phones, TV, motorcycle and others.
