Tirupati:: The management of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams has launched a Tamil version of the website after successfully launching its Telugu and Kannada websites. TTD Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal unveiled the new website. He opined that it would facilitate the devotees to book Srivari online services including accommodation and darshan besides making donations through e-Hundi.
Kurnool:: Andhra Pragathi Grameena Bank has bagged a national award from the Union Ministry of Rural Development for best performance in SHG bank linkage for the year 2016-17 today. APGB Chairman A.Venkata Reddy received the award from Additional Secretary of Rural Development Nagesh Singh and Joint Secretary Atul Dulloo at a review meeting held with the Chairman of regional rural banks in New Delhi.
Rajamahendravaram:: Former MP and CPI(M) leader Miriyam Baburao has said that the party’s State convention will be held on February 10 and 11. Addressing media here on Thursday, he said that party’s district conventions would be completed before the State meeting. He said that neither the Centre nor the State government fulfilled any promises in the last three years.
Guntur:: N. Ravi Kumar, a junior assistant working at Ponnur Primary Health Centre reportedly consumed poison and later died while undergoing treatment at GGH, Guntur. Before taking the extreme step, he posted a video on Facebook. His wife and three daughters alleged that Ravi Kumar had been harassed by his seniors and denied promoted. In the Facebook, he named assistant director Ratna Raju, AO Mallikarjuna Rao and other staff members at DMHO office, IVD Prasad and said that they had humiliated him. He said that they had demanded a bribe of Rs.1 lakh but even after he had paid Rs.70,000, the administrative staff denied his promotion. He allegedly consumed position on November 19 and was admitted to GGH.
