Kakinada:: The Chintooru police have arrested Gundi Chalapathi (34) who joined the banned Maoist Party in 2014 and presently working as supply committee member and supplying diesel, electrical wire bundles and medicines to the Maoists. SP Vishal Gunni speaking at a press conference charge Chalapti with transaction banned currency notes worth Rs.25 lakh with the help of middlemen and handed over the valid currency to Maoists during the demonetization period. He was nabbed by the Etapaka police during a vehicle check and during the questioning, he confessed to his offence.
Rajamahendravaram:: The YSRCP enforced bandh here on Thursday and organized protests elsewhere in East Godavari district against the attack of State youth wind leader Jakkampudi Raja allegedly by a SI Nagaraju. It may be recalled that the SP has sent the SI Nagaraju on vacancy reserve. The party demanded his suspension immediately. The Chamber of Commerce extended its support to the protest and closed all the shops and establishments in the city. Private schools and colleges were also closed.
Amaravati:: Out of 681 students appeared for selections under higher education under Videshi Vidya Deevena scheme, as many as 677 students were selected. This includes 298 from BCs, 47 from SCs, 6 are from STs, 61 students from Minorities and 265 are from Kapu community.
