Ganja plants destroyed

Rajahmahendravaram:: The Prohibition and Excise department staff today destroyed 12,698 ganja plants in Y.Rayavaram mandal of East Godavari district. K.Hemantha Nagaraju, Assistant Commissioner of Prohibition and Excise, Kakinada said the plants were being grown in the government pormboke lands on the outskirts of Peda Pulisuri Metta, Buradakota and Dora Koppulakota villages in Pathakota panchayat.

ANU research scholar gets award

Guntur:: Shabuddin Shaik, a research scholar from the department of Animal Sciences, Acharya Nagarjuna University has won the AP Young Scientist Award-2017. Dr.Shaik has been awarded for his pioneering work on the systematics of the cave dwelling micro-crustaceans for the first time in the country. HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao presented the award to Dr.Shaik in Visakhapatnam recently.

Chief Minister to lay stone for railway bridges

Vijayawada:: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu will lay the foundation stone for a railway bridge between Kotipalli-Magam villages across the Gautami river and two other bridges. These bridges are being built as part of the Kakinada-Kotipalli railway line extension up to Narasapuram.
