‘Efforts on to speed up Polavaram works’

Kakinada:: Union Minister Y.S.Chowdary today said efforts were on to increase the pace of the Polavaram project works and the issue would be discussed at length in Parliament. ‘I will use my good offices to ensure timely release of funds from the Centre for completing the projects on time’, he said. He inaugurated the road stretch between Mandapeta and Kapileswarapuram laid at a cost of Rs.20 crore.

Report on ‘jirayati’ lands in Kolleru soon

Vijayawada:: Minister for Health Kamineni Srinivas said that the State government would send a report to the Centre seeking de-notification of 20,000 acres of ‘jirayati’ lands situated in the purview of the Kolleru sanctuary. He stated in a press conference that a meeting in this regard would be held soon wherein the Chief Minister would chart the course of action. A committee would be constituted to clearly demarcate the boundaries of the ‘jirayati’ lands.

AP Postal Circle HQ to come up in Amaravati

Vijayawada:: The headquarters of the AP Postal Circle is all set to come up on 2.25 acres at Amaravati according to Post Master General (AP Circle) K.Balasubramanian on Sunday. Speaking to media, he said the land was being offered on payment basis and once the new facilities including staff quarters, were established, the temporary headquarters in Krishna Lanka would be shifted. He said that 25 Postal Banks would be set up in the circle in 2018. These banks were authorised by the RBI, he said.
