Adhere to MSP guidelines’, says Collector

VIJAYAWADA:: Krishna District Collector B.Lakshmi Kantham has instructed in charges of 267 paddy procurement centres in the district to strictly follow the guidelines related to the Minimum Support Price. He was speaking at a training programme on the MSP at the Rice Merchants’ Association Hall here on Saturday. Joint Collector II P.Babu Rao, District Civil Supplies Officer Nageswara Rao and DRDA Project Director Chandrasekhar Raju were among those present.

ONGC plugs gas leakage

MALIKIPURAM (EG Dist.):: There was panic for some time when people noticed gas leakage in a drain under which an ONGC pipeline passes at Adavipale in Sankaraguptam of Malikipuram mandal on Saturday. A pinhole line leakage was observed in the flow line of the gas pipeline. An emergency team of the ONGC rushed to the spot and isolated the de-pressurised it immediately. Officials said the leakage was an in isolated area and there was no damage whatsoever.

Nod for Science City

TIRUPATI:: The government had cleared the establishment of a Science City in Tirupati. It will be a hub for interdisciplinary science and technological research, with centres in Tirupati, Amaravati and Visakhapatnam. Each science centre will have science museum, a research and development innovation centre and a convention centre. The first science centre/museum will be developed in Tirupati. It would spread in about 107 acres of land for which Rs.100 crore has been sanctioned initially.

Tremors trigger panic

CHITTOOR:: Villagers of Krishnapuram in Yadamarri mandal were shaken following tremors of magnitude of 2.6 on the Richter scale at around 1.20am on Saturday that lasted for a few seconds. Confirming the seismic activity, RDO D.Kodandarami Reddy said there were no aftershocks or vibrations and no damage to property was reported. Villagers ran out of their houses as household articles started falling. A few huts developed minor cracks.

Special Trains between Tirupati - Dharmavaram Extended

HYDERABAD:: In order to clear extra rush of passengers, the following Special Trains will run between Tirupati – Dharmavaram – Tirupati. Train No. 07402 Tirupati - Dharmavaram Special train will depart Tirupati at 05:00 hrs from 8th November to 14th November 2017 and arrive Dharmavaram at 10:40 hrs o­n the same day. In the return direction, Train No. 07401 Dharmavaram - Tirupati Special train will depart Dharmavaram at 13:00 hrs from 8th November to 14th November 2017 and arrive Tirupati at 19:10 hrs o­n the same day.
