Chalo Assembly on November 16

RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM:: A struggle committee fighting for Special Category Status and redress of bifurcation woes has announced to undertake ‘chalo Assembly’ on November 16. At a roundtable here today, it resolved to appeal to the government to lead an all-party tem to New Delhi. Speaking on the occasion, CPI State Secretary K.Ramakrishna said the SCS issue was not a closed chapter. Former MP Vundavalli Arun Kumar spoke on the occasion.

Twelve injured in industrial accident

ONGOLE:: Twelve persons were injured in a blast in an industrial unit at the Gollpalli Growth Centre in Maddipadu Police Station limites on Friday. The injured including two in a serious condtion were rushed to a corporate hospital here according to police sources.


Heavy rain forecast in Prakasam and Nellore

Visakhapatnam:: The low pressure area over southwest Bay of Bengal and neighborhood and the associated upper air cyclonic circulation extending up to 5.8 km above the mean sea level, persist. A fresh low pressure area is likely to form over southeast Bay of Bengal and neighborhood around November 14 according to IMD. Under this, heavy rain is very likely to occur at isolated places in Prakasam and Nellore districts of south coastal AP on November 13 and 14.

World Bank team inspects roads in capital region

VIJAYAWADA:: A World Bank team comprising Sameh Wahba, Sumila Gulyani, Catalina Marulanda, Elen Karaban, Raghu Kesavan and Maged Hamed inspected the road works at Krishnayapalem and Kruagapalli in the capital region on Friday.

Sub Inspector suspended

KAKINADA:: Superintendent of Police Vishal Gunni on Friday issued orders placing under suspension Pudi Nagaraju, SI working at Ramachandrapuram Police Station for allegedly assaulting YSRCP youth wing president Jakkampudi Raja a fortnight ago. Following the incident, the SP ordered an inquiry besides deputing the SI to vacancy reserve. Following the inquiry report, Vishal issued the suspension orders according to a police release.

KRMB meet on November 15

Hyderabad:: A meeting of the three member committee on Krishna water sharing between Telangana and AP will be held on November 15 to decide the quantum of water that should be released to the States from out of the available storage in Srisailam and Nagarjunasagar in the coming month. As on November 4, an estimated 330 tmcft was available in the two reservoirs. Of this, AP would be allocated 217.8 tmcft and Telangana 112.2 tmcft with priority to drinking water and meeting irrigation needs being the second priority. This was announced by the KRMB chairman S.K.Srivastava at the meeting on November 4.
