Vijayawada:: A delegation of the AP Revenue Services’ Association led by its president B.Venkateswarulu today met the Deputy Chief Minister K.E.Krishna Murty and sought clearance of the Combined Service Rules applicable from Class IV employee to Deputy Collector. He was elected for the third time in a row also sought hike in the salaries of the VRAs and sanction house sites to the eligible.

Two youth washed away while taking selfie

Eluru:: Two youth were washed away while another was saved by local police when they were reportedly taking a selfie by getting into the Polavaram right canal. According to the police, Karthik and Hari along with another person went to the canal at Anantapalli village in Nallajerla mandal on Wednesday for a swim and tried to take a selfie. However, they were washed away.

Twenty passengers hurt as RTC bus collides with lorry

Kurnool:: Twenty passengers were injured when an RTC bus collided with a lorry near Deebaguntla of Gospadu mandal in the district on Wednesday. Three severely injured were rushed to the government hospital at Nandyal.

Congress says Jagan running away from Assembly

Kurnool:: Kadapa district Congress leaders today advised Leader of the Opposition in the AP Legislative Assembly YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to call off his proposed padayatra and instead raise the people’s issues in the Assembly. Addressing the media, APCC general secretary S.A.Sattar and DCC president Nazeer Ahmed accused Jagan of running away from the Assembly. They advised him to play the role of the Opposition effectively by confronting the ruling party on its shortcomings.

Biopic on Lakshmi Parvati

Ongole:: Even as Ram Gopal Varma created ripples by announcing that he would make a biopic on NTR titled ‘Lakshmi’s NTR, another film maker K.Jagadeeshwar Reddy announced on Wednesday a biopic on NTR’s wife titled ‘Lakshmi’s Veera Grantham’. He said that shooting of the movie would begin on November 12 and the film would be released on January 18, the death anniversary of NTR. Already NTR’s son had joined hands with Teja for the NTR biopic starting with his childhood days and overcoming the political coup by Nadendla Bhaskara Rao while Varma’s film related to the developments after the entry of Lakshmi Parvathi in the life of NTR.

Fire accident in Chandana Brothers showroom

Guntur:: A fire accident occurred in Chandana Brothers situated at RKT Centre on Wednesday night. The fire broke up in the fourth floor due to short circuit. The incident happened when the workers were closing the shop. Firefighting engines rushed to the spot and brought down the fire according to sources.

Narayana College fined with Rs.10 lakh

Rayachoti:: RIO of Kadapa said that a fine of Rs.10 lakh was imposed on Narayana College for their negligence in the suicide of a girl student. He said that the officials have inspected several colleges and investigated the college girl student’s suicide. He said that stringent action would be taken on the concerned colleges if found them putting pressure on the students, he said.
