Rajamahendravaram:: Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Nimmakayala Chinarajappa said today that the police would not tolerate rowdyism or any type of crime. Speaking to media, he said that the government had taken a series of steps in controlling crimes like land grabbing and smuggling and red sanders and ganja. He said that the crime rate in the district was under control, the number of cases had slightly increased in series offices like murders, rape and kidnaps. He said that the number of these cases in 2014 were 479, and in 2015 it is 490 while in 2016 it is 519. The number recorded till April was 167, he said. As many as 181 rowdy sheets and 429 suspicious persons in the urban police district was registered. He asked the police officials to act tough on the anti-social elements.
Amaravati:: A Singapore government delegation led by Minister for Trade and Industry S.Iswaran is arriving to sign a MoU with the State government for development of Amaravati start-up area on Monday at Hotel Gateway at 10am. CRDA Commissioner Cherukuri Sreedhar will present the Letter of Award to the Singapore consortium consisting of Ascendas-Singbridge and Sembcorp Ptd Ltd., Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Eswaran will lay the foundation at 2.15pm.
Kurnool:: Minister for Tourism Bhuma Akhila Priya directed officials on Saturday to complete long-pending works in Nandyal and Allagadda constituencies in the district. Addressing a review meeting with revenue and municipal officials in Kurnool Collectorate, she directed expeditious completion of pending works sanctioned with the Chief Minister’s funds and special development package.
Kurnool:: YSRCP MLA from Proddatur Rachamallu Sivaprasada Reddy and his family members sustained minor injuries when his car collided with a lorry at Namalagundu near Pulivendula in Kadapa district today. He was going to Bengaluru along with his family members to attend a marriage when the accident took place. They were treated at Government hospital at Pulivendula.
Nellore:: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and his wife Bhuvaneswari called on Minister for Municipal Administration P.Narayana today and offered their condolences on the untimely and tragic death of his son Nishith in a road accident. Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu accompanied them. They spent for over an hour with Narayana and his family members. Chandrababu said that he was deeply moved on hearing the news while in US.
Srikakulam:: As many as 12 leaders of CPI(M) and CITU were arrested at Srikakulam RTC Complex today when they tried to stop operation of hired buses with new drivers. The existing drivers are on strike. Tension prevailed at the complex for an hour as representatives of Left parties staged protest seeking increase of the salaries of hired bus drivers. They sought additional payment of Rs.5,000 pm to each driver.
Vizianagaram:: The district committee on the Forest Rights Act has cleared laying of 45 roads with the Centre’s special grant in the reserve forest. The Forest department granted clearance after it conducted a survey jointly with the engineering wing of ITDA, Parvathipuram for laying of roads in the scheduled areas. The District Collector who is also the chairman of the committee said that the joint survey was proposed for laying of 214 roads – 158 in the reserve forest area and the remaining 56 roads in unreserved areas. Eight roads would be laid in GL Puram mandal, 17 in Kurupam, 6 in Komarada, 2 in Makkuva, 8 in Salur and 4 in Pachipenta, he said.
Vizianagaram:: Minister for Mines and Geology RVSK Ranga Rao received 175 representations from people at the special grievance cell that he conducted for the first time at the ZP Conference Hall today. Speaking to media later, he said that the special grievance cell was conducted in Vizianagaram division to directly interact with people and solve their problems. He said that he would receive representations from the people in both Vizianagaram and Parvathipuram revenue divisions once in a month.
Vijayawada:: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu suspended MLC Vakati Narayana Reddy from the party for his alleged involvement in a loan default case. He said that he would be taken back if he proved his innocence.
Vijayawada:: The State government has signed a MoU with SourseRFX in the US towards creation of an online network for small and medium manufacturing industries. SorseRFX will build and operate industrial portal, apart from providing dynamic websites for 1,000 small and medium industries in the State. The MoU was singed in the presence of Chandrababu Naidu, IT Adviser J.A.Chowdary, Industries Secretary Solomon Raj, Secretary and Founder and CEO Krishna Mattaparthi of SourseRFX.
