  • Canada to assist build airports:: Canada as global leader in Civil Aviation will help India in the construction of airports and aircraft certification and in establishing Indian aircraft certification centres. The Canadian government will also provide training in maintenance, repair and overhaul of Indian Aircraft said Canadian High Commissioner Nadir Patel. ‘Canada and India have signed an MoU this month to explore, expand the aviation sector and will assist India in airport infrastructure and technical aviation training. Canada has 400 partnership agreements with the country.
  • VEERA bus on display:: Veera, a boarding and de-boarding airport coach claimed to be cent per cent Make in India product was on display at the Civil Aviation Show here for the first time. The 14.5 meter long coach can accommodate 106 passengers and has pneumatic cylinders. This enables the bus to tilt up to 180 mm from the ground for passenger comfort. Air India will purchase 25 Veera coaches costing Rs.2 crore each.
  • Nagari MLA Roja gets relief::The Hyderabad High Court today issued interim orders permitting Nagari MLA R.K.Roja to attend the Assembly sessions. It may be recalled that Roja was placed under suspension for one year by the Andhra Pradesh Assembly following unruly comments at a time debate was taken place on call money racket.

  • Need to honour court ruling’, says former Speaker Nadendla Manohar:: Former Speaker Nadendla Manohar said ‘ I think the AP Legislature will need to honour the HC verdict on Roja. Proper procedure was not followed while suspending her for an year. If they had followed proper procedure and then taken a decision, we could argue that courts cannot intervene in the affairs of Legislature. In earlier occasions like this, the House followed all rules and regulations and that was why the decisions of the House were not questioned in Courts. Former Speaker K.R.Suresh Reddy said ‘ there is some ambiguity in the issue. It would be better for the Speaker to put the issue before the House and debate how to go about it.
  • TIRUPATI: Saint Paripoornananda demands to declare Tirupati as Hindu Dharmik Zone::Noted scholar and saint Paripoornananda Swamy demanded to declare 100 km radius in and around Tirupati as Hindu Dharmik zone. Speaking to press at Press Club, he said that it is the responsibility of every Hindu to guard Hindu dharma. He questioned how the permission was given for establishing Islamic University at Chandragiri.
  • VIJAYAWADA: BC Corporation first meeting:: The BC Commission has held its first meeting here on Thursday. The Commission Chairman Justice K.L.Manjunath presided over the meeting. They discussed the issues relating inclusion of Kapus in BCs list. They discussed the terms of reference. Commission secretary A.Krishna Mohan, members V.Subramanayam, M.Poornachandra Rao have participated in the meeting.
