ANANTAPUR:Leopard, cub found dead:: Two leopards – a mother and a cub were found dead in the Dharmapuri reserve forest area of Rayadurgam mandal on Monday. The leopards were found lying dead a few metres away from each other near the village tank close to Ratibavi Vanka village. DFO P.S.Raghaviah said that the preliminary investigations indicate that the leopards died of poisoning apparently after eating a dog which was either already dead due to poisoning or killed by leopard. Forest officials conducted post-mortem on the spot and all the three animals and sent the viscera to the forensic science laboratory in Hyderabad to ascertain the cause of death.
HYDERABAD:AP Assembly proceedings:: YSRCP president and Leader of the Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy speaking in the Assembly said that Chandrababu Naidu during his tour at the time of cyclone during 2013-2014 announced assistance to the people But when it came to power, he had forgotten Rs.1,692 crore input subsidy. The district collectors of the concerned districts have sent proposals seeking assistance of Rs.1,500 crore for the year 2014-15, the government has reduced it to Rs.858 crore and still has to pay Rs.79 crore. The Governmetn has to pay a compensation of Rs.1,021 crore for the year 2015-2016. The Centre has for the year 2014-15 has released Rs.737 crore and Rs.237 crore, the State Government has released only Rs.858 crore for the year, he said. The fact is that 50 per cent has to be borne by the Centre and the rest by the State. He said that the State government has diverted the funds. Jagan said that for the year 2015-16, the Centre has agreed to pay Rs.750 crore but not even a single paise was released. The party staged a walk out in protest against playing games with farmers and diverting the funds.
SRIKAKULAM:Jute mill announces lockout:: Neelam Jute Private Limited located on the outskirts of Srikakulam announced lockout on Monday citing labour unrest and poor demand for jute products in the market. The management said that it was very difficult to run the mill with non-availability of raw material and lack of demand for finished products. Meanwhile, the workers led by T.Suryanarayana submitted a memorandum to the District Collector P.Lakshmi Narasimham demanding immediate reopening of the factory.
VISAKHAPATNAM:YSRCP district president threatens indefinite fast for Rail zone::YSRCP district president Gudivada Amarnath has announced his decision to launch a fast-unto-death from April 14, the birth anniversary of Dr.B.R.Ambedkar if the Centre fails to make a categorical statement on the new railway zone with Visakhapatnam as its headquarters. YSRCP district unit organized a protest at DRM’s office on Monday. He said that BJP State president K.Haribabu, Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had all been issuing statements during the last one and half years that the new zone with Visakhapatnam as headquarters was imminent.
