  • Vijayawada:: 24 students hospitalized after taking upma:: About 24 students of the AP Social Welfare Residential Degree College, Kanchikacherla suffered motions and vomitings after consuming breakfast today. They were admitted to Government Hospital and Andhra Hospital. The students were staying on the S.R.R. & C.V.R .Government college campus in Machavaram. District Collector B.Lakshmikantam along with college staff visited the hospitals and enquired about the health conditions. The District Collector ordered an enquiry into the food poisoning and directed the authorities to provide quality treatment to the students.
  • Vijayawada:: Actor Kavita joins BJP::Actor Kavitha joined the BJP in the presence of party State president K.Haribabu on the side-lines of the party’s core committee meeting here today. She said that she felt humiliated and side-lined in the TDP and considered BJP as the organization to be in.
  • Visakhapatnam:: BJP failed to honour its promises’, says Nannapaneni Rajakumari: AP Women’s Commission chairperson Nannapaneni Rajakumari today said that the BJP deceived the State by failing to fulfil its promises made in the AP State Re-organization Act. Speaking to media, she said that the State was given a raw deal by the Centre on all issues and cited as expels of meagre allocations for educational institutions, construction of State capital and even declaration of the Padma and ‘Nari Shakti’ awards.
  • Visakhapatnam:: Stone to be laid for Aquatic Quarantine Facility:: Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will lay foundation stone by remote from Velagapudi for the Aquatic Quarantine Facility and Brood-stock Multiplication Centre at Bangarammapalem in Nakkapalli mandal in the district on Tuesday. It is being established in an area of 30 areas by the government at a cost of Rs.68 crore.
  • Vijayawada:: RS polls –TDP candidates file nominations:: TDP candidates for the Rajya Sabha elections viz., C.M.Ramesh and Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar filed their nominations at the Secretariat today. They were accompanied by family members and supports. March 13 is the last date for filing of nominations and the elections are scheduled to be held on March 23.
