  • HYDERABAD: MRPC can challenge the Superintend of Police order:: Justice P.V.Sanjay Kumar of Hyderabad High Court told the MRPS that it has liberty to challenge the order passed by the Chittoor SP refusing permission for the proposed Madigala Ratha Yatra by Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti form March 10 to April 30 from Naravaripalli in Chittoor district to Vijayawada demanding the SC Categorization. The judge was dealing with a plea by MRPS represented by U.Bramhaiah Madiga moved as a lunch motion seeking to declare the action of the DGP of AP and SP of Chittoor and Anantapur not granting permission for the yatra despite court orders.
  • Seaplane tourism to be launched on April 15::Telangana Tourism Minister Azmeera Chandulal after a meeting with the officials of tourism department on Thursday announced that the seaplane tourism will be launched on April 15, 2016 after the success of heli-tourism in the city. Chandulal said that Kakatiya Festival would be held in Warangal, Golconda Festival in Hyderabad and Chalukya Festival in Vemulawada in future. He directed the officials to prepare action plans for conducting these festivals.
  • Two Telugu students died and another two seriously injured in car crash at Perth in Australia: Two Telugu students Aravind Kumar Samala and Seshagiri Medavarapu died in a car crash at Perth in Australia while another couple Nishanth and Priyadarshini were critically injured in the incident. The injured were shifted to a local hospital and the mishap occurred on Sunday night but came to light on Thursday. Aravind hailed from Hyderabad whereas Seshagiri was from Buvvanapalli of Visakhaptnam district. The car in which they were travelling was hit head-on by another car.
  • Suvidha superfast special trains between Secunderabad and Patna via Varanasi:: The SCR will run two Suvidha superfast special trains between Secunderabad and Patna via Allahabad and Varanasi. Secunderabad-Patna Suvidha superfast special train will depart from Secunderabad 21.40 hrs on March 20 and arrive in Patna at 10.am on Tuesday. In return direction, it will leave Patna at 9.30am on March 25 and arrive in Secunderabad at 10pm on Saturday. These special trains will stop at Kazipet, Ramagundam, Bailarshah, Nagpur, Itarsi, Jabalpur, Satna Manikpur, Allahabad, Varanasi, Mughlsari, Buxar, Agra and Danapur station in both the directions.
  • Ravela Susheel produced in the court:: After two days’ police custody, the police have produced Ravela Susheel in the court today. The court ordered to send him to Central prison. Meanwhile, the Banjara Hill police have on Thursday seized the car No. AP 07 CK 1777. Investigations reveal that the car is registered in the name of one Narayana Swamy. During investigations, Susheel is reportedly told the police that the car belongs to his relative Narayana Swamy. The police found the car without number plate.
  • Madhusudana Rao appointed as Chief Operations Manager of SC Railway::N. Madhusudana Rao today assumed charge as Chief Operations Manager of SC Railway. He belongs to 1983 batch of IRTS and worked as Executive Director of Traffic Commercial department and also DRM of Western Railway during 2011-13 and also in charge for planning department. He did his M.A. in New Delhi and MBA in Australia.
  • JEE Hall tickets on the website:: The hall tickets for the JEE main examinations to be held on 3rd of next month was posted on the official website. The candidates can download the same.
  • Rs.10 lakh accidental insurance to journalists:: Minister for IT Palle Raghunath Reddy said that a GO.No.570 has been issued to cover accidental insurance to all working journalists with Rs.10 lakh. He said that the government is committed for the welfare of the journalists.
  • Software engineer arrested on harassment charges in Facebook::One S.Chandrasekhar working as a software engineer from Visakhapatnam was arrested by the Cybercrime police on the base of a complaint by a woman. The woman in her complaint said that the accused is a senior during her studies and befriended through Facebook. He used to meet her in Hyderabad frequently and asked her to marry him. She politely refused and as there was no change in his attitude, he used to black mail her by indecent postings in the Facebook. The accused was taken into custody by the police.
  • Telangana State Assembly Sessions to go up to March 29:: The Telangana State Assembly Session will go for 16 days including Saturday and Sundays following a decision by the Business Advisory Committee’s decision. Finance Minister Eetela Rajender will present the budget on March 14. Council sessions will also be held up to March 31.
  • KIRLAMPUDI: Allotment of Rs.1,000 crore for Kapu Corporation is due to his letter’, says Mudragada:: Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham said the allocation of Rs. 1,000 crore for the Kapu Corporation was the result of a letter written by him to the Chief Minister. He said that he was not withdrawing his agitation seeking reservation for Kapus but postponing it keeping in view the ongoing examinations. He said that the government had to fulfil other promises made to the Kapus during the elections. He said that there is no going back on the prime demand of including Kapu in BCs list.
  • VISAKHAPATNAM: Petroleum Studies Institute for the city:: The Centre is likely to set up a petroleum studies institute in Visakhapatnam due to the discovery of largescale hydrocarbons in Kakinada region that is very close to the city. The classes are set to begin from coming academic year on a temporary basis. Visakhapatnam MP K.Haribabu said that the Minister for Petroleum Dharmendra Pradhan is very much interested on the proposed institute to be set up here.
  • Former AU College of Science & Technology principal Gopala Krishna passed away:: Noted mathematician and former Principal of Andhra University College of Science and Technology Jonnalagadda Gopala Krishna passed away here today. He was 82 and is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter. He worked as Head of the Department of Mathematics and Chairman of Board of Studies.
  • Hindi conference in New York:: The third International Hindi Conference 2016 will be held at the Consulate General of India in New York from April 29 to May 1, 2016. Chairman of Lok Nayak Foundation Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad addressing the press said the Hindi Sangam Foundation in association with Hindi professionals from Columbia University, CUNY, New York University, Yale University and others. All participants have to register for the conference by March 15, 2016.
  • Indoor-sports facility inaugurated:: East Coast Railway General Manager Rajiv Vishnoi has today inaugurated indoor sports facility named as Railway Indoor Sports Enclave (RISE) at the ECoRSA complex. ‘RISE’ spread over 2,200 square meters has wooden flooring of 1,600 square metres and is equipped with essential infrastructure which can be utilized for practiced as well as for conduct of tournaments. Badminton, squash, snooker and table tennis can be played inside the enclave, he said.
  • VIJAYAWADA: NGT petitioner Pandalaneni Srimannarayana tenders apology:: Environmental activist who filed a petition against Andhra Pradesh State Government in the National Green Tribunal (NGT) P.Srimannarayana apologized for posting requests for donations on the Facebook to fight the case against the government. Advocates from the State filed a petition in the Tribunal urging the Bench to debar him from continuing in the petition in front of the tribunal . The Chairman of the Tribunal Swatanter Kumar said that nobody including courts did not have the power to do so. The Chairman of the tribunal mildly chided Srimannarayana for making such posting on the Facebook and Srimannarayana tendered an apology to the tribunal.
