Amaravati:: The counselling for admissions into polytechnic centres in the jurisdiction of Acharya NG Ranga Agricultural University has come to end today. The counselling was held at Lam Farm Auditorium and as many as 3,890 seats were filled up according to polytechnic coordinator Dr.G.Sunil Kumar Babu.
Tenali:: With the implementation of GST across the country, the State witnessed a loss of Rs.2,900 crore said AP Finance Minsiter Yanamala Ramakrishnudu. He was speaking after inaugurating Commercial Tax office here at Tenali in Guntur district. He said that Chattisgarh stood first followed Andhra Pradesh in the second place in implementation of GST. He said that protests in textile, granite, handlooms, fishnet etc., are coming up and the same will be discussed in the meeting to be held on August 1, he said. He said that the State earns Rs.40,000 crore through commercial taxes.
Guntur:: Former MLC K.S.Lakshmana Rao has demanded the government to reimburse the fee without any cap to the students. In a State level student meeting held at Mahima gardens here, he demanded to hike the hostel mess charges to Rs.2,500 from the existing Rs.750. State SC/ST Commission Chairman Karem Sivaji said that the student agitations are being side tracked. He said that the government is ready to solve the issues relating to the students.
Amaravati:: CRDA Commissioner Sridhar said that the 12 zones in the capital region, the layouts will be developed at a cost of Rs.18,800 crore in the coming three years. He held a State village level committee at CRDA office. Plans are there to develop layout on international standards. The basic amenities in the Zone I layouts will be taken up from September 11, he said. He said that tenders will be called for to development two zone in a week and complete the entire layout works within 45 days.
Hyderabad:: The Hyderabad High Court while express its anger for not implanting its orders on the conduct of elections to Kakinada Municipal Corporation has ordered issuance of notices to the State Election Commissioner and the Principal Secretary, Municipal Administration. The court ordered them to appear personally and posted the case to August 4. A Division Bench comprising of Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice P.Naveen Rao issued the orders on Friday. It may be recalled that one Ch.Narayana Murty approached the court to give a direction for conduct of the elections even after lapse of the stipulated time. The Municipal Administration expressed completeness of the process by September 24, 2016 and conduct the elections within 45 days from that date. However, this was not implemented. The petitioner approached the court under contempt provisions.
Hyderabad:: YSRCP Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy (RK) has paid Rs.17,44,12,625 as the second and final instalment as was directed by the Honourable High Court in Sadavarthi lands issue. It may be recalled that as per the court directions, he paid Rs.10 crore earlier. The developments came following the petitioner approached the Honourable High Court that irregularities were taken place in Sadavarthi lands auction and when asked by the court to take the lands by paying an additional amount of Rs.5 crore which was accepted by him. Accordingly, the payment was made.
Nellore:: Minister for Municipal Administration P.Narayana said Mudragada Padmanabham’s agitation is only for political gains. Speaking to media here today said that after receiving Justice Manjuntha Commission report would be placed in the Assembly and got it approve and will be sent to the Centre. BC Corporation chairman Chalamalasetty Ramanuja accused that Mudragada is acting on the directions of Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Vijayawada:: The counselling for admission into MBBS/BDS under the purview of Dr.NTR University of Health Sciences, as many as 299 (297 MBBS and 2 BDS) seats were filled up on the first day of counselling itself under management quota. Out of 700 rankers were called for counselling only 306 candidates have turned up. ‘B’ category seats have been filled up at NRI Chinakakani, Nellore Narayana Medical colleges have been filled up.
