Butta Renuka rules out joining TDP

Kurnool MP Butta Renuka asserted that she would continue in the YSRCP and ruled out change to TDP. Terming the reports that she might join TDP as a creation of section of the media. She had informed the leadership in advance that she would not be able to attend the Parliamentary Party meeting. The MP said she called on the Minsiter for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development N.Lokesh to discuss developmental issues in her constituency.

KE Krishna Murty takes part in ‘Varuna yagam’

Kurnool:: Deputy Chief Minsiter K.E.Krishna Murty performed puja and participated in ‘poornahuti’ of ‘Varuna yagam’ performed in the Sri Rambhotla temple on Sunday. Ten priests of Omkaram temple performed the three-day yagam.

CPI State Council meet from July 17

Ongole: The CPI will hold its two day State Council meeting from Monday with focus on unity of the Left parties. Briefing reporters here on Sunday, its State secretary K.Ramakrishna said the agenda was to discuss ways to strengthen ties with various Left parties and carry forward the people’s struggles. The meeting would make a critical review of the functioning of the ruling TDP-BJP combine.

Disciplinary action against six doctors

Tirupati:: The AP Medical Council has decided to initiate disciplinary action against six errant doctors. At its general body meeting on June 28, the council decided to remove the name of Dr.A.Suryanarayana Rao (Guntur) form the medical register for six months for ‘unethical acts’. The names of M.Surendra Nehru (Secunderabad), N.Suneetha (Hyderabad), B.Venugopala Rao (Krishna district), Sagar Sunka (Hyderabad) and S.Swaroopa Rani (Guntur) would be removed as per the MCI recommendations for submitting fake faculty declaration forms for the academic year 2015-16.

’Anivara Asthanam observed at Tirumala

Tirumala:: The TTD formally began its new accounting year on Sunday by conducting the annual ‘Anivara Asthanam’ ceremony in Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple at Tirumala. This is one of the major religious events conducted with splendor at Tirumala as it is the last date of Tamil month of ‘Ani’, thus marking the turning of the new accounting year.

Three matka organizers held

Kurnool:: The Adoni police arrested three matka organizers who allegedly organized matka online from Karnataka and seized 900 grams of ganja and Rs.2.73 lakh from them. The arrested are Pampapathi and Dabba Gadilinga of Peddaharivanam and Bhadraiah of Santhekodlur in Adoni .

Dwana Puraskar to Manapragada

Vizianagaram:: Noted literate, madhduravachasvi Manapragada Sesha Sai was honored with Life time achievement puraskar by Dwana Sahiti Kuteeram of Hyderabad. At a function held in the Fort premises, he was presented with a cash reward of Rs.5,000 and a citation. Responding to the Puraskar presentation, Seshasai thanked them for recognizing his services. Dr.M.Gopala Rao who presided over the function said that Sesha Sai has extended his services as Principal of Maharaja Sanskrit College.

Certificate verification underway

Vijayawada:: Dr.NTR University of Health Sciences has invited the students seeking admission into MBBS/BDS courses from rank 2501 to 4,000 on Monday for verification of certificates. University Camp officer Dr.T.Murali Mohan said that 368 candidates in the purview of NTR University, 387 in Andhra Loyola College, 362 from SVU, 258 in Kurnool, 330 in AU (Visakhapatnam), 242 in JNTU Hyderabad, 197 in OU jurisdiction.
