Gas leak in train creates panic

Tirupati:: A gas leak from one of the cylinders being transported by a passenger triggered panic among other travellers of the Tirupati-Puri Express near Renigunta railway station on Monday. According to RPF sources, one Anil Kumar from Ongole was carrying three mini cylinders in the general compartment. The RPF personnel after enquiry took him into custody.

Transco Engineer M.Nagaraju trapped by ACB

Ongole:: Nine teams of ACB simultaneously raided the house of assist divisional engineer of AP Transco M.Nagaraju in Allagadda and those of his relatives at Kurnool, Nandyal, Kotakondur and Velugodu in Kurnool district on Monday. Sources said that the ADE acquired assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. The ACB DSP Jayarama Raju and other officials conducted searches and detected assets worth Rs.10 crore.

Treat public with respect’, DGP tells trainee officers

Anantapur:: DGP N.Sambasiva Rao participating at a programme marking the start of the ‘induction training’ for 350 Sub-Inspectors and ASIs at the Police Training College told them to speak respectfully with the public. ‘When a complainant comes to us for help, he will be happy if you speak respectfully with him whether or not you would be able to help him. Listen to the complainant patiently, verify if there is truth in it and then respond, he said. This will enhance the image of police department, he added.

RTC withdraws 112 service of no-income routes

Amaravati:: The APSRTC Chief Traffic Manager in a statement said that it had withdrawn 112 rural services where there is no-income performance. The statement said that the RTC has introduced 305 special services for the students. He said that RTC generally introduces more services during the peak period from January to June and withdraws in the slack season from July to December.
