State seeks Centre’s permission to borrow Rs.2,000 crore
The Andhra Pradesh State Government has written to Centre seeking permission to borrow Rs.2,000 crore from the market this month. The State can borrow Rs.5,000 crore more before the end of the current financial year ending March 2016. The Centre has fixed Rs.17,000 crore by way of total borrowings in the current financial year for the State Government.

GoM constituted for manpower planning
The State Government today constituted a Group of Ministers to work out manpower planning in health, animal husbandry, fisheries, agriculture, horticulture and sericulture sectors and to suggest the number of colleges/universities/institutions to be established. The GoM comprising of Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas, Agriculture Minister P.Pulla Rao and HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao among others will assess the manpower projections by 2020.

Electrical Inspectorate department renamed as Directorate of Electrical Safety
The Andhra Pradesh State Government has changed the nomenclature of Electrical Inspectorate Department as Directorate of Electrical Safety. The Chief Electrical Inspector who is responsible for enforcement of the provisions of Electricity Acts, regulations and rules for safe use of electricity in the State has requested the government to change the nomenclature.

  • Nalgonda: Police arrested person who lured selling kidneys:: The man accused of selling kidney lured nearly 20 persons into selling their kidneys. Police during their inquiry found that the donor was paid Rs.25,000 as advance and the balance was paid after the operation. The culprit who was the agent received Rs.50,000 as commission for each kidney. Sources said that the agent was paid Rs.10 lakh to Rs.20 lakh per kindly and the racket came to light only a few donors were paid only Rs.5 lakh lodged a complaint with the police. However, the police denied to revel any details saying that the inquiry was on.
  • Telangana Finance ministry clears for filling up of 1,069 posts:: Telangana State Finance ministry has cleared the file of filling 1,069 posts in agriculture and mining departments. It permitted TSPSC to conduct the recruitment under direct recruitment mode. There were 1,000 Agriculture Extension Officers (Grade-2) posts and the rest are technical eligibility based posts.
  • Warangal: Medical student commits suicide:: A final year MBBS student M.S.Mounika (23) studying in Kakatiya Medical College has committed suicide by hanging on the hook of a ceiling fan in her hostel room no. 19 at Lakkireddy building. She was staying alone in her room. Sources said examination tension might be the reason for the extreme step.


Chief Minister will inaugurate maternal and child health block
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate the new maternal and child health block in the district hospital at Nandyal on Wednesday. After inauguration of the new block, he will proceed to Debaguntla to participate in Janmabhoomi – Maa Vooru programme at later will visit the medical and maternity camps. He will fly to Ratana in Tuggali mandal in the afternoon and will launch the Panta Sanjeevani farm ponds programme there. He would also address a public meeting at 4 p.m.

TDP activist V Nagesh done to death
TDP activist Valluri Nagesh was brutally hacked to death with hunting sickles by a group of persons at Ramakrishnapuram Banganapalle mandal of the district today. The incident took place when he was returning home after dropping his children in a school. He was an accused in a murder case and was suspected to be due to previous enmity, said police. The police registered a case and police picket was posted to avert any retaliatory attack.


Police arrested red sanders smuggler Rehman alias Bhai
The police have today arrested red sanders smuggler Rehman alias Bhai and seized red sanders logs worth over Rs.1.30 crore along with 110 red sanders logs and three vehicles. The police are on the hunt for his for the last two years. Police suspect that the accused have links with foreign smugglers.


Red sanders logs worth over Rs.20 lakh seized
Task Force Police personnel today seized 21 red sanders logs worth over Rs.20 lakh at Bhoopal Colony in the outskirts of Tirupati. But, the accused who were transporting the logs have escaped from the eyes of the police under the cover of darkness.


Government gives nod for filling up of 500 doctor posts
The State Government has given its nod for filling up of 500 doctor posts on contract basis in the purview of Andhra Pradesh Vaidya Vidhana Parishad according to State Joint Commissioner Dr.P.L.Ramachandra Reddy here after an inspection. Speaking to press, he said that efforts are being made to conduct blood tests in all government hospitals under PPP mode.


ACB conducts raids in ADE residence
Sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau is conducting raids on the residence of electrical ADE Rama Subba Rao at Maruthinagar here today. Sources said that they have unearthed Rs.20 crore worth of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. They reportedly seized promissory notes worth over Rs.two crore. The raids are going on said sources.


APPSA seeks categorization of private schools
The AP Private Schools Association (APPSA) at its State level meeting here at Sri Vivekananda Vidyaniketan on Monday resolved to impress upon the government on the need to categorize private schools into A,B,C and D arrange ‘Pratibha puraskarams’ to meritorious students of small budget schools and conversion of electricity connection slab for schools form the present commercial to ‘category7’.
