Srisailam, Vontimitta temples to be closed

Kurnool:: The Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy and Bhramaramba Devi temples at Srisailam will be closed from 8am on January 31 because of total lunar eclipse. Pilgrims will be allowed into temples from 6.30am on February 1 according to a statement. The Sri Kodandarama Swamy temple at Vontimitta in Kadapa will be closed from 9am to 8.45pm on January 31. The Kalyanam slated for Wednesday has been cancelled.

SC commission member for Guntur

Guntur:: Member, National Commission for Scheduled Castes K.Ramulu is visiting the district on Wednesday. Ramulu would be present at the R&B gust house and receive grievances said Joint Director, Social Welfare R.Mallikarjuna Rao in a press release on Tuesday.

Transgenders meet Chief Minister

Kurnool:: Transgenders of Nandyal called on the Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu in Amaravati and sought permission for construction of a temple for Chandrababu Naidu with a silver idol in it, Indian National Samatha Hijdas’ Rights Ikya Porata Samithi founder P.Vijaya Kumar said that Chandrababu Naidu responded favourably and told party secretary T.D.Janardhan to discuss the proposal with Nandyal MLA Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy. The Samithi leaders felicitated Chandrababu and thanked him for announcing pension and welfare measures for the community.
