Railway constable held on bribe charges

Kurnool:: ACB officials of Kadapa trapped Devadanam, a railway head constable of Yerraguntla railway station when he accepted a bribe of Rs.9,000 from a woman today. The head constable demanded bribe when a woman Padmavathi of Valasapalli village approached him for issuing the inquest and post-mortem reports of her son B.Siva Sankar who allegedly committed suicide on the railway track on January 20 said Kadapa ACB Circle Inspector K.Ramachandra.

Dharmana Prasada Rao faults government defections

Srikakulam:: Former Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao today alleged that the TDP government was acting against the Constitution with regard to defection of MLAs from YSRCP to TDP. He was speaking while taking part in ‘Walk with Jagan’ programm from RTC complex to old Bus Stand junction.

YSRCP leader hurt in attack

Kurnool:: YSRCP leader Raghurami Reddy and his aide Jagadeeswara Reddy were injured when five masked men attacked them with iron rods and kives near a dhaba near Nandayl check post on Sunday evening. The Kurnool police registered a case. Raghurami Reddy who was in the Byreddy group distanced himself from it after his father Tirupati Reddy was brutally murdered by rivals. He joined the YSRCP and unsuccessfully contested as sarpanch in the last panchayat elections.

CPI slams Centre for raw deal to the State

Tirupati:: CPI dared the MPs from the State to build pressure on Centre to get the bifurcation promises fulfilled. CPI State secretary K.Ramakrishna breathed fire against Chief Minister Chandrababu and leader of the Opposition Jagan Mohan Reddy for extending unconditional support to the NDA in the elections for the post of President and Vice-President but failing to exhibit fighting spirit in demanding their pound of flesh for the State.
