Case booked against Director Ram Gopal Varma

Hyderabad:: Nampally Police have registered a case against famous film director Ram Gopal Varma following a complaint by social activist Devi alleging that he made unruly comments on women. She urged the police to see that the movie filmed by Ram Gopal Varma ‘God, Sex and Truth’ be not released. The police based on the complaint registered a case u/s 67 of IT Act, IPC 506, 509.

Two electrocuted

Anantapur:: Two persons were electrocuted at Malyavantam village of Battalapalli mandal in the district while working on the borewell motor pump in a farm today. According to police, Dasari Sekhar (32) a farmer from Layaavantam and Madhusudhan, a mechanic from Ekumandampalli village were extracting pipes and the pump from the borewell in Sekhar’s farm. One of the pipes came in contact with 33/11 KV line resulting in their instantaneous death.

15 acres of land for cancer institute

Vijayawada:: Hindupur MLA N.Balakrishna thanked the State government for allotting 15 acres for Amaravati unit of the Basavatarakam cancer hospital and research centre. Balakrishna who is the chairman of the Basavatarakam Indo-American Hospital in Hyderabad unfurled the national flag at the hospital in Hyderabad today. Speaking on the occasion, he said that a foundation stone would be laid for a cancer unit at Tullur in Amaravati next month and said that the construction of the hospital would be completed in two years.
