HYDERABAD: Arepalle Mohan appointed as Telangana SC Cell Chairman:: AICC general secretary Janardhan Dwivedi in a statement said that Arepalle Mohan was appointed as the Chairman of Telangana Congress SC Cell.

MEDAK (Sangareddy dist.):: Seven Agricultural officials placed under suspension following misappropriation of funds:: The Telangana State Government has placed seven agricultural department officials in Sangareddy following reports of misapprioprition of funds to the tune of Rs.3.13 crore. The suspended officials are M.Ramu a senior assistant B.Srinivas, K.Krishna Reddy (superintendents),Shyam Sunder, Seniro Assistant, G.Ramesh (Ag.Officer), K.Padma, Assistant Director and B.Hukya, Deputy Director.

APSRTC union elections on February 18, 2016:: In a meeting held at Bus Bhavan between the Labour department officials and Union leaders has decided to conduct elections of the recognized unions in all depots in the districts on February 18 from 5am to 6pm. The results will be announced after polling at the depots itself. YSRCP Mazdoor union was allotted ‘Fan’ symbol, while Employees Union with ‘Bus’ Kagada for NMU, Star for Staff and workers union, Tyre for Karmika Parishad, Peigon for Bahujan Workers Union, Steering for United Workers Union.

Strikes in APSRTC banned:: Special Chief Secretary B.Shambabu today issued orders banning strikes in APSRTC for a period of six months.

Ramoji Rao conferred with Padma Vibushan: The Central Government today announced Padma Vibhushan to the Chairman of Ramoji Group Ramoji Rao for his services in journalisam for the year 2016

CHITTOOR:: 23 persons arrested in Mayor couple murder case:: DSP Lakshmi Naidu said that they have arrested 23 accused in the murder of Chittoor Mayor Katari Anuradha and Katari Mohan. A charge sheet will be filed shortly. He said that financial and family matters were the prime reason for the double murder.

KURNOOL:Fertilizer trader commits suicide:: A fertilizer trader Gopal (42) who incurred debts of Rs.1 crore consumed pesticide and committed suicide in Vandavagili village of Holagunda mandal in the district today. He owns Sri Venkateswara Fertilizers had given seed and fertilizers on credit to several farmers and they owed him substantial sum of money. Meanwhile, the fertilizer suppliers mounted pressure on him demanding repayment of dues. As he found no way to clear the debts had committed suicide said the family members.

Seven red sanders woodcutters nabbed:: Police hae arrested seven woodcutters belonging to Rudravaram in the district in the Nallamalla forests of Kadapa district. The arrested were identified Banaganapalle Madhu, Annadasari Brahmam, Godugu Gurrappa, Chengaboyina Ramudu, Mutyala Narasimhulu, Bollam Jamalaiah and Kondaboyina Ramesh. Two motorcycles, seven red sander logs worth Rs. 2 lakh and axes were seized from the accused.

RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM:Kapu Welfare and Development Corporation offers loans to youth:: State Kapu Welfare and Development Corporation Chairman Chalamalasetti Ramanujaya said that the corporation will offer loans to youth between 21 to 45 years of age from the community. They should have white ration cards. He said that eligible youth would be granted loans up to Rs.1 lakh with fifty per cent subsidy to start small scale business.

VISAKHAPATNAM: Fire at Pharma City creates panic:: Fire at the process laboratory of Alivira Animal Health at the Jawaharlal Nehru Pharma City, Parawada created panic among the workers. However, no one was injured in the incident. The fire which was suspected to have broken out at the vapor exhauster of the unit on Saturday night caused the spreading of flames in the room located on the first floor. The cause of the accident was believed to be eclectic short-circuit. Deccan Fine Chemicals Meanwhile, the CPI(M) district committee wanted the District Collector to order a comprehensive inquiry into the major fire accident at the Deccan Fine Chemicals at Kesavaram in Payakaraopeta. The party alleged that he factory management failed to take safety measures in spite of a major accident in the factory on April 11, 2014 said K.Lokanadham in a memorandum mailed to the District Collector.

Tyagaraja music festival from January 28:: A six day Tyagaraja Aradhanotsavam music festival being organized by the Tyagaraja Aradhana Trust from January 28 would feature over 450 kacheries. Over 800 musicians will perform 474 concerts at Kalabharati Auditorium according to Secretary, Tyagaraja Aradhana Trust, GRK Prasad.

VIZIANAGARAM Dist:Makkuva:: Security beefed up for ‘Sirimanotsavam’:: Securiy has been beefed up for ‘Sirimanotsavam of Goddess Polamamba at Sambara in Makkuva mandal on Tuesday. The administrations expects over 2 lakh devotees. Over 1,000 police personnel including five DSPs and 11 Circle Inspectors have been deployed. APSRTC will operate 225 services for the festival venue beginning from Monday for three days. Endowments department has set up facilities for special and spot darshans for Rs.30 and Rs.10 per head.
