Gopala Rao promoted as IGP, South Coastal Zone

Guntur:: K.V.V.Gopala Rao, Deputy Inspector General, South Coastal Zone, has been promoted as Inspector General of Police, SCZ today. He had been posted as DIG, SCZ in July 2017 and succeeded N.Sanjay who was posted as IGP Training.

Poverty drives Class X girl student to suicide

Chittoor:: Unable to bear poverty in the family, a 15 year old girl student studying class X allegedly committed suicide by gulping a hair dye liquid on Tuesday night and later died at a hospital in Madanapalle in the early hours of Wednesday. The girl returned to the school on Tuesday afternoon after Sankranti vacation. After having lunch, she chose to spend time alone till late in the evening. While her friends went to her room to call her for dinner, she was reportedly found frothing from the mouth with pungent smell of a hair-dye. She was rushed to the local government hospital and later shifted to the area hospital at Madanapalle where she died while undergoing treatment.

Gazal Srinivas released on bail

Hyderabad:: The Nampally court has granted bail to Gazal Srinivas who was lodged in Chanchalguda prison in alleged sexual harassment case. The court also granted anticipatory bail to A-2, Parvati. The court ordered him to pay Rs.10,000 and two sureties. The court ordered him to report on Wednesday and Sunday at Punjagutta Police station.
