Tiger estimate survey from January 22

Guntur:: The annual All India Tiger Estimate survey is set to begin from January 22 in the three tiger reserves in the State -Nagarjunasagar, Srisailam, Tirupati and Visakhapatnam. The AP Forest Department has rolled out a six-day schedule. The exercise includes collection of data pertaining to mega herbivores such as elephant and gaur. Th Principal Chief Conservator of forest P.Mallikarjuna Rao, the department had introduced a mobile app ‘M-Stripes-Ecological’ in which the personnel would have to upload the data pertaining to tigers. There are 43 tigers in the State but the rare sightings indicate the possibility of increase in their population in the region.

Screening test for teaching posts in universities

Amaravati:: The screening test will be held in the last week of February for the recruitment of 1,110 teaching posts in 14 universities across the Stte. The test will be held in four days in different subjects. The schedule will be released by the APCSHE shortly according to sources. Meanwhile, the contract teaching staff in the universities are demanding their regularization.

ANU school of distance education results announced

ANU:: Acharya Nagarjuna University school of Distance Education that conducted M.Sc., Food and Nutritional Science examinations, the results of which were announced on Thursday. The results can be had on www.anucde.info. Candidates seeking for revaluation has to pay Rs.960 per subject by February 5.

Direct flight from Gannavaram to Mumbai

Gannavaram:: Air India will take of its first direct flight service from here to Mumbai on Friday. The direct flight will be available three days in a week. Boeing 737-800 will have 186 seating capacity. The flight will fly on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays and will leave 8am in Mumbai and arrive at 9.45am in Gannavaram. In the return direction, it will take off at 10.30am and arrive at Mumbai at 12.10pm.
