Three persons drown in bid to escape from police

Kurnool:: Three persons are feared to have met a grave on Tuesday when they reportedly jumped into Putlampalle tank on the outskirts of Kadapa in a bid to escape from being caught by police for gambling. The three who were allegedly playing cards near the tank became panicky on spotting policemen and reported jumped into the tank on being chased by a home guard. As they did not surface, officials deployed swimmers to trace them.

Venkaiah wraps up visit to Nellore district

Nellore:: Vice President M.Venkaiah Naidu left for Chennai by a special aircraft here on Tuesday concluding his five-day visit to his native place in Venkatachalam near here, where he celebrated Sankranti with his family and friends. Municipal Administration Minister P.Narayana, Mayor Abdul Aziz, District Collector R.Mutyala Raju, SP. P.H.D.Ramakrishna and others bid farewell to Venkaiah Naidu.

BSNL begins linking of Aadhaar with mobile

Vijayawada:: The BSNL has started the linking of mobile number with Aadhaar through its toll-free number 14546 for IVRS based OTP authentication process throughout the State according to its Chief General Manager A.Purna Chandra Rao. After dialing 14546 and typing the Aadhar number, an OTP will be received on the mobile number. The process will be completed upon feeding the OTP received.

Pooling booths convenors training of YSRCP from January 20

Amaravati:: YSRCP said that training classes for polling booths convenors will be commenced from January 20. These training classes will be conducted from January 20 to February 20 on district wise basis. In a circular issued by the Central office to the district presidents and regional co-ordinators to take steps to conduct the training classes on a convenient day.

Certificate verification for Group II candidates from January 18 to February 1

Amaravati: The candidates who qualified for 982 Group II posts, the original certificate verification will be held from January 18 to February 1. As many as 1,935 candidates have been called for and certificate verification will be done for 200 candidates per day. The candidates called for details of which were posted on the official website of APPSC.
