ANANTAPURAM:ECET on May 9:: Andhra Pradesh Engineering Common Entrance Test 2016 will be held on May 9 according to committee chairman, JNTU-A Vice Chancellor Prof. M.Sarcar. He released the schedule on Saturday. Online applications will be accepted from February 17 without a late fee of Rs.400 up to March 28 and with a late fee of Rs.1,000, the last date is April 16, with a late fee of Rs.5,000 it is April 23. Hall tickets can be downloaded form www.apecet.org from April 30, he said.
HYDERABAD: Government issues GO to pay enhanced salaries to Anganwadi workers:: The State Government has issued orders enhancing the honorarium of Anganwadi workers and helpers with effect from April 1, 2016. The honorarium was increased based on the recommendations of the GoM. For Anganwadi workers, it is increased from Rs.4,200 to Rs.7,000pm for mini-Anganwadi workers, it has gone up from Rs.2,950 to Rs.4,500 and that of helpers from Rs.2,200 to Rs.4,500.
Telangana Government complains on AP:: The Telangana State Government has complained to the Centre and Krishna River Management Board against AP for sanctioning Rajolibanda Diversion Scheme Right Canal against the provisions of KWDT-1 as there was a running dispute on the original scheme itself on deprivation of its rightful water to Telangana.
NELLORE:Cancer patients gets Rs.3 lakh from Prime Minister’s relief fund:: Mallireddy Sridhar Reddy, a native of Kaluvai who has been suffering from cancer has been extended financial support of Rs.3 lakh from the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund. This was possible only when the Nellore MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy represented the issue to PMO’s office. He said that the PMO has sent letters to his office and also to the beneficiary’s residence regarding the help.
RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM: MP Murali Mohan appeals for a double-decker train from Vizag to Vijayawada:: Rajamahendravaram MP Maganti Murali Mohan appealed to Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu to include a double-decker train between Vijayawada connecting Rajahmundry in the new Railway Budget. He also wanted the Minister to announce two new trains between Visakhapatnam and Varanasi via Rajahmundry and a direct train from Visakhapatnam or Rajamahendravaram Rajadhani Express to New Delhi. He said that he would organize job mela on April 10 in which 10,000 youth would take part.
VIJAYAWADA: Bids for temporary capital will be finalized in a couple of days:: The State Government is likely to finalize0 bids for construction of the temporary capital in a couple of days. The bids were opened on Saturday but none of the two bidders – Shapoorji Pallonji Co.Ltd and Larsen & Toubro was selected. Minister for Municipal Administration P.Narayana said the bids were not finalized and that if the companies do not agree to price stipulated by the government, fresh tenders would be invited with a deadline of 14 days.
VISAKHAPATNAM: Digital dustbins commissioned:: The Indian Railways has commissioned digital dustbins at the Visakhapatnam Railway Station by Divisional Railway Manager Chandralekha Mukherjee on Saturday. The main objective of the digital bins each costing Rs.50,000 is to propagate the message of cleanliness and Swachh Bharat among rail users through LED display while making the surroundings more clean.
President hosts banquet:: President Pranab Mukherjee hosted banquet at the Eastern Naval Command Officers mess in Visakhapatnam which was attended by a host of dignitaries form the Central and State Governments., visiting chiefs of foreign navies, Indian and foreign participants of the IFR. The President congratulated the chiefs of foreign navies for their participating in the IFR.
VIZIANAGARAM: SC Corporation ED in ACB net:: SC Corporation Executive Director M.Raju was arrested by the officials of ACB when was accepting a bribe of Rs.1.15 lakh collected from the district BC Welfare Hostel wardens. ACB DSP Ch.Lakshmipati said that the wardens were in the habit of collecting Rs.10 from each student from out of the amount for cosmetics being paid to them and that was handed over to the ED by Wardens’’ association president Mohana Rao.
