  • Amaravati:: Lorry owners observe bandh on February 8:: AP Lorry owners association president Y.V.Eswararao today in a statement said that they will observe bandh for one day on February 8 in protest against the Central government’s rule. He appealed all the lorry owners to participate in the bandh.
  • Hyderabad:: 14% seats in NITs:: Union HRD Ministry has decided to allocate 14% of seats in all National Institute of Technologies. The seats would be filled in those institutions in which the girl students strength is less than 20%. With this the number of seats will increase along with IITS and NITS.
  • Hyderabad:: High Court stays works on Handri -Neva: The Supreme Court today stayed the orders of Hyderabad High Court in Handri-Neva Sujala Sravanti works. The court directed the State to file a counter . It may be recalled that the government had issued notification of land acquisition for the works. One Venkatarayudu had challenged the government orders in the High Court. The single judge has passed orders in favour of the petitioner while the government filed another writ petition which dismissed the one judge decision. This was challenged in the Supreme Court that stayed the proceedings of the High Court.
